The name for this is 'Insomnia'. You could try sleeping pills. Or maybe your 'sleeping clock' is messed up. Do you usually stay up til late anyway? Try not eating for a couple of hours before sleeping as it reduces your metabolic rate. Alternatively you could see a doctor about it.
drink warm milk.

insomnia.. can't sleep because of you... insomnia, don't know what yuo're putting us through... hehe..
yeah, don't eat, don't play computer games, don't do any hard maths or geometry or anything.. just let your mind calm down before going to sleep. if you have other issues that are on your mind and you are worried about, write them down on a piece of paper, and sort them out tomorrow  hehe.

lay off the coffee.someone told me eating cheese helps you sleep and sleep better so you could try that.take a warm shower not cold ones,erm..don't exercise before you sleep, lay off the tea as well.sleeping pills as a temporary measure but watch you don't become dependent on them

Are you sure cheese makes you sleep better? I thought it just gave you nightmares. You should try to reset your body clock by getting up at the same time everyday - yes even weekends! Then your body gets used to this and adjusts itself accordingly so you'll start feeling tired earlier. Don't do anything too mentally stimulating after about 9 thats no telly, computers, homework etc.... read a trashy novel with a warm caffeine-free drink in bed.
All this advice comes from the biggest insomniac ever who doesn't listen to her own advice but feels obliged to pass it on anyway..... :p: Good Luck!

inhale a little trichloromethane, it does wonders.
I had sleeping problems for years. not the same as yours, I just never, ever went an entire night without waking up several times. And i never felt refreshed or awake in the morning. Anyway, I started taking evening primrose oil for my heavy periods and for the first time since I was a kid I was sleeping like a log!! All the way through, and feeling ace in the morning.

I thought it may just be co-incidence until i forgot to take my capsules home with me at xmas. I was waking up at all hours again.

Its strange, but I swear by it !
I don't think theres any super quick fix method. My sleeping pattern was messed up a week or so ago cos of exam stress. I tried nytol, it didn't really work. So i went and bought some sominex. It kind of worked, butit may just be cos you have to take it an hour before going to sleep, you mentally prepare yourself for it.

Other than that, i just set my stereo to come on with "wake up music" at 7 and made it so i had to get up to turn it off. its painful at first and makes you feel sick to be getting up when you're still stupidly tired, but its something that you're got to do. :-P

It means you're nocturnal. Try getting a night job somewhere and sleep during the day. problem solved
