I Really Need To Stop Smoking!!!!!

its not the actaul smoke i like, its the addiction. how the hell can you stop!!!! i have tried everything!!!! im not a heavy smoker bt i really want off them!

i have tried to stop buying them but i evntually give in and its really hard to get off them!

Quitting's a killer, that's for sure. Short of buying gum/patches, it requires a real determination to see it through.

I'm afraid there's no easy way out when you're addicted - there's no miracle cure to get you off the fags, you'll only quit if you're REALLY determined to quit. Try the usual things: gum, patches et al. You may need to find something to fiddle about with in your hand, so that yo aren't gagging for a cigerette - maybe an interesting keychain or something, just to keep your hands occupied? First of all, if you fail a few times, don't give up. Keep on trying. Most people don't manage to quit on their first try, and many has to try very many tiems before they finally succeed. Just keep on trying to quit and you will probably manage eventually.

Not buying them is a good idea, but take it one step further. Avoid places where you know you will be tempted to smoke or buy cigarettes. Try to change your habbits as to avoid the situations where you usally smoke ( If you smoke while watching TV after dinner, try to go for a walk instead. If you often have a cigarette together with the beer at the pub, try switching to wine or go to the movies instead). Its obviously most important that you don't smoke, but it will also be very helpful if you avoid things that will tempt you to smoke.

Once you manage to get over teh addiction. Don't even touch one again. Don't even think about it. Don't even have a single taste of one at a party. Maybe you could manage a single cigarette at the odd time, but its not worth the risk. Better safe than sorry.

Zyban works really well. I know a several people who have used it successfully, including those who were smoking up to 50 each day.
