I don't think so! I guess it often happens when all the exitement and the crazy stuff you do when you just start dating go away, and sooo many people expect them to last for ever and are not prepared to accept that a bit of slowing down is a valid part of the relationship. A bit too long-witted - sorry!
They just grow apart...one moves on the other doesn't catch up
Incompataility?
On going petty bickering

All of the above, and a few more.

Growing apart, seeing eachother less & less, and the feeling that the whole relationship was a routine.
Realising that when you got together it was for the wrong reasons, and that what you wanted then you don't want anymore...
Boredom! You get bored of each others company,

The majority of people here who talk about long term relationships seem to be around 19 years old, meaning the relationship started when they were 16/17 - you change a huge amount over your teen years, the last ones are probably the most emotionally major - the actual having to grow up and be independant bit. People grow up and grow apart. It happens, and it's sad that it does, but that's life.
Realising that I would be with my current partner forever if I didn't break up with him: that he was ready to settle down, and I wasn't.

Being treated as a cash machine, a free taxi, having to cope with his drinking (ie having to undress him and put him to bed every Saturday night for nearly 3 years), being humiliated in front of mutual friends time and time again...
I broke up with my boyfriend cos i refused to put up with the neglect anymore. I had been planning to do it for ages and eventually had to do it in a letter cos as usualhe couldn't be bothered to come and see me so i could do it face to face hence the use of the word neglect.
When realtionships turn routine...

Or one always expects.
If one is unadvenrturous and the other is the opposite - the latter may grow restless!

Relationships are two way!
