Waxing

I'm contemplating having a bikini line wax done because well its a pain in the ass shaving..

Does it hurt as much as people make out it does? And would you recommend it instead of shaving?

I've had my legs done before and that wasn't too bad but the idea of getting my pants off for a beautician is a bit daunting too!

It hurts but its bearable pain. And you don't need to take your pants of you just lift then and the beautician can work around then. Its smoother than shaving but you have to exfoliate to avoid ingrowing hairs.

You can get special hair removal stuff for your bikini line from places like boots that works quite well and is cheaper than getting waxed
Does the hair removal cream stuff really work that well? Which brand is best?

If you just want a bikini line, then you just push your knickers aside, i wouldn't know about the rest, but they've seen it all before.
It doesn't hurt that much, an underarm wax is so much more painful! The good thing about waxing is it's a nice-ish pain, it goes away pretty much instantly. I'd only recommend it if you are able to let it grow to the proper length before each wax.

I've used Veet before, for me it just lasted as long as shaving, but it did make my hair softer, and no cuts.

i veet a fair bit of mine, then when its growing back, get it waxed then, not as painful  do be careful of ingrowing hairs though, they are a pain in the butt.. or minge *hehe*

oh yes. You can buy those gloves from the body shop, they help keep ingrowing hairs away as it removes the dead skin and exfoliates the area. Otherwise a good exfoliating body wash can help. It's best to prevent them as they are horrible when they arrive.

was there really any need to bump this thread up with a ridiculous comment like that, complete abuse of anon and a waste of time.

Freedom of speech.
painful but ok if you are brave and are determined. The beauticians have seen it all before, don't worry.

Its a much nicer result than shaving and lasts longer. No irritation either
