Is it possible to be allerigc to shampoo?

Ive got quite long hair which comes to about half way down my back and ever since ive changed shampoo ive come out in a really itchy rash all over my back and shoulders and a bit on my front where my hair dangles..

My mum thought it was acne but like i said its only happened since ive been using this shampoo and its really rashy and seriously itchy??
What do you think?

Yeah it can be possible, you might be allergic to one of the ingredients in the shampoo

It seems strange that your back and shoulders are itchy and not your scalp...maybe your mum has changed washing powder and its your clothes not the shampoo...?

I thought that you know! But mum said it hadnt changed.. and usually if the washing powder changes ill notice it on my legs and arms first.. but its back which is why im so confused

The rash stops where my hair stops.. thats wat makes me wonder.. :frown:

Try going back to your old shampoo and see what happens, or try something else if there was a reason you stopped using the old shampoo.

Hmm when I have a bath/shower I come out in red itchy blotches all over my chest and back. Apparently it's where I'm sensitive to heat and my Dr has me on anti-histamines for it. It only started happening about 2 years ago. x x

That sounds slightly similar.. only mines there permanently.. its all itchy and blotchy.. my back is very hot though now u mention it

Mine can just appear sometimes. The best thing to do would be to see your Dr
