Basic question: how do you know?

Assuming that you haven't already acquired a studded leather cap and begun to sprout thick wads of facial hair, it looks to be anybody's guess.

Facial hair is always important - there are several prevelant styles withing the gay community - these are, ofcourse, genetic in nature:

these are most typified by the moustache:

but, beware - other forms of facial hair could relate to other passions, e.g.,

Marxism:

not to be confused with comedy acts of a similar name:

Also, it could dictate a belief in evolutionary biology:

being an aussie windbag:

Or just general idiocy:

hope this has been of use to you.

Basic question: how do you know?

Ok seeing that noone else had the decency to post a serious reply ( shame on you all) I'll post a link to a small article on it from our little community at Warwick Uni.

http://www.warwickpride.org/modules.php?op=modload&file=article&sid=11

Sais it so much better than I ever could. Anyways, the main things to note is that whereas some peopel know very early and feel very confident about it from an early age, others have a more difficult time coming to terms with it. Understanding how you feel is not always as easy as it may seem, and then there can be this huge pack of denial and self delusion on top of it. Its really not always as easy and straight forward as some people here make it out to. Just keep in mind that only you can know for sure. Noone can tell you if you are gay or not, its something you have to figure out yourself. Havings aid that, others can offer advice and support to help you sort things out. Thats what the link above is for.

Oh and once again, shame on the rest of you for taking this thread so lightly. Even if you have jumped to conclusions and assumed the OP is not serious about it ( which really is quite a silly thing to do ) there are undoubtly other people who will read this thread looking for advice.
