Lump

So back in the summer I found a lump in my breast. I got it checked out, had a core biopsy, and it turned out to be a fiberdoma or something. there's a 1 in 1000 chance of it becoming cancerous (my risk is slightly increased by family history im guessing), and i was told if it grew i should go to have it checked out again

so it's grown a bit possibly (not sure tbh), which basically means i get it removed. and that's my worry. i already have a scar from the biopsy, and i would have to have an operation under general, and part of my breast tissue may also be removed (which i can't exactly would make me happy.. they're not exactly great in the first place), and i'd end up with a massive scar

so if it was up to you, live with the lump, or deal with the removal?

Without wanting to panic you or anything, go to the doctors! They'll know what's best but if they say you should have it removed then do it-you can't really afford not to and If it leaves a scar then so what? Any guy doesn't want to know you because of a scar on your breast wouldn't be worth knowing.

Hope everything goes O.k. x

personally i would get it removed, but how big is it? and guys might find the scar sexy!
Have it removed!!! Surgeons are very good these days and tell them of your worries about scarring. I am sure they would put your mind at rest. Good luck.

I say definitely get it checked out. If it's cancerous, you really want to get it removed- and like people said- the procedures have improved so much recently.

If it is cancerous you'd be worrying about a lot more than just a mark on your chest.

Anyway, good luck! I'm sure it will be alright, but these things are best checked out by a doctor.

ok let me rephrase this
it is not cancerous. in the long run there is a VERY small chance of it becoming cancerous. i know it is not cancerous because i had a biopsy
i mean, as a vaguely, you dont have to but if you can put yourself in my position thing, would you get it done if-
there is a high chance of scarring for life
there is a highish chance of your breast becoming disfigured
there is a chance of another one appearing, and having to go through it again
there is a 1/3-1/2 chance it will shrink and disappear anyway

I love your lady lumps.

Shut up
If you do end up getting it removed, there is an amazing product called bio oil (www.bio-oil.info) which can really help reduce the appearance of scars. People have talked about their scars fading and eventually disappearing with this stuff.

If you're worried about it hon, get the lump removed. At least then, your mind is at rest.

Good luck with whatever you chose to do

I think I'd still get it removed, just for peace of mind... If you don't worry about it then by all means just check it regularly! I just worry myself sick about those kinds of things...
