Being sick/calories

Okay, I'm on a diet and have a set calorie intake for the day. Anyway I was sick before and threw up basically all of my lunch (drank a leeetle bit too much last night). I'm hungry again because my stomach is empty, but I already ate my calories for lunch. So my question is: can I eat lunch again, like, do the calories not count because I have thrown them up, or did they get absorbed? So I can't eat lunch again? Does that make sense?

I'm hungry!!

PS Am posting this as anonymous because I don't want everyone to know I'm on a diet
well the fact that you lunch is not in your loo means that its unlikely that the calories will come out of the drain and drop to your thighs, so obviously you can eat lunch again, and you shouldnt really get that worked up about one meal  if u get too obsessed over a diet it wont work
You have no way to know how much was already absorbed, so its your call. Why not compromise and eat a certain proportion of your lunch again. Or just **** the police and eat it all again
When you are ill your body requires more fuel/ energy in the form of food - so if you are feeling hungry go ahead and eat coz it is your bosy telling you you need it! hope you feel better soon xx

Ah, I always got told that as soon as you ate something all the calories got absorbed, so when you were sick it didn't make a difference, the calories were already there. I don't feel much like eating but I'll have some soup! Thanks guys
Eat the same lunch again.
If you don't feel much like eating, don't eat again until you do =D Just drink lots of water to fill you up

What, just by magic? Nope, not quite. Some will have been absorbed but not all. The soup won't be a bad thing - but if you're ill you might want to give the diet a break for a few days till you're better.

I was told you retain either 60% or 40% of the calories (not sure which!) when you throw up. By a doctor trying to argue me out of being bulimic. So I'd say have half your lunch again, but don't make throwing up a habit- it's addictive!
you are on a diet, you are obsessing over your calories, but you went out and got drunk last night?
