Lots. Mostly when I was younger. My teeth are just so bad.

I've only had 1 filling. But i reckon my teeth hate me.

I had 2 fillings in my milk teeth due to eating loads of sweets. 1 had to keep being re-done. I learnt from that and look after my teeth more now. Up to now, I don't have any in my adult teeth. I floss once a day and use mouthwash when I clean my teeth (at least twice a day). Chewing sugarfree gum is supposed to help reduce the chances of cavities developing too.

I've still not had any. I was last at the dentist two months ago, he said my teeth were perfect.

I don't know how - I brush them six times a week if lucky.

I have no fillings  but I've had enough work done on my teeth to make up for it!
I would just like to say that even though I've had two fillings that doesn't mean I've been bad to my teeth... I mean, it could have been caused by eating too much fruit!
Plus one was when I was young and I was getting all kinds of stuff getting done on my teeth 'cause they were messed up.. but they are fine now. Besides the crookedness.

I haven't had any! I still had some milk teeth until I was 16. But damn I eat so many sweets it's ridiculous - until recently I used to pour golden syrup on my cornflakes!

It unfortunately depends on more than just your dental care. My family has rubbish teeth - both my mum and sister have some sort of saliva issue that means they tend to accumulate plaque-forming bacteria really easily, so they have to clean really well and even so they've both had a few fillings. My Dad's teeth just crumble, they're awful, and I don't think it's because he doesn't take care of them, it's just the way they are.

I'm reasonably lucky and have only had one proper filling. When I had milk teeth though, some of them had weak enamel because I was given some kind of antibiotics as a baby (tetracycline? not sure) which can have that effect. So they had to be painted with extra enamel which was vile, but not quite the same as fillings! Fortunately the antibiotics don't seem to have affected my adult teeth apart from a tiny stain on one.

Wow; nice information!
Aww, I feel sorry for your family; I've had a few very minor scares recently with me teeth and recently started using listerine. I think a lot of the enamel on my molars has just gone, they're rather clear looking in a lot of places, so I'm extra careful with them because they can get a little sensitive nowadays.

I had my teeth painted when I was younger as well! Don't know if they were my adults or not, but I used to get called shark cos my milk teeth wouldn't fall out! I had to have 7 extracted in Y7...:>.<: It hurt like hell, and I still have them to this day. It's really quite an interesting field of medicine, and had I still been as interested in science as I had been as a kid, when i was older, I might have done it.

My dentistry effectively kicked me out when I started uni, they just said don't bother making any more appts then! I'm trying to get one atm, I'm seriously considering going private with my dad's old one as it sounds really good, and I don't go out much so wouldn't be losing much moolah
Shat me; sillynarb are you serious? 12??? Someone likes his cake
Oops, I ranted a bit lol.

i have 3!

Plus i have a broken tooth, which i blame on my orthodontist, who had't given me an appointment for 8 months even tho you're meant to get your braces checked out every week! Luckily, I've finally manged 2 arrange one for next week, so I can finally get that checked out - I'll probs have 2 have it extracted :frown: . I guess the pressure from the braces caused the tooth to break, as I've been lookin after my teeth properly since I've had braces, so thats the only thing I can think of. So now my teeth are even more screwed up than when I started wearing braces!
I've had a couple, my dentist told me he was doing them though 'just in case' because I was going to have braces and if they deteriorated it'd be difficult to do!
I've got white filings as mercury fillings are supposedly bad, and I can't remember where they are as I can't see them!

In my milk teeth I had two mercury fillings, and they used to zing when I put tin foil or a fork in my mouth :p: They fell out with my teeth though

I have one white filling.
I've also had three teeth pulled out because of decay. I'm petrified of needles, so I wouldn't let the dentist fill my teeth and the decay got worse and worse until I had to have the teeth pulled out.

I'm terrified of the dentist too. I have to take the day off uni tomorrow to go and register with an NHS dentist because there is only one in the whole city willing to take new patients on! I leave it until things get unbearable because of my stupid phobia. I had to be sedated when i went to the dental hospital to have an extraction. But last week i decided enough was enough. My mum didn't take me to the dentist much when i was younger as a result i have lots of fillings. But no more.

I had to be sedated a few times, just to have fillings... it didn't work, though, I still didn't let the dentist give me the fillings!

Oops. I selected 0 instead of 1. I have a migraine and my eyesight is poor. :frown: I'm not sure if I should put one or 2 anyway…

I had a filling when I was a kid on one of my back teeth, which I didn't even need. Since then that tooth has caused me major problems, and made me petrified of dentists. I put up with this tooth for ten years until I finally plucked up the courage to have it removed last year. I also had a filling on one of my front teeth last year and I'm now due for another.

My new dentist is good. She explains everything before sticking things in my mouth, and with extractions the most painful part is the numbing injection. The only problem I have is her assistant used to bully me at high school, and so I've been avoiding the place.
