# C1 quick problem help! watch

1. Express as simply as possible with a Rational denominator

However the the book states that the answer is:
2. They are the same
3. (Original post by TenOfThem)
They are the same you just need to simplify
How would you get?

Simplyfying gives me -1/2 + sqrt3
4. √12 = √(3 x 4)
Which is the same as 2√3

The top of the fraction can make 2(1-√3)

2(1-√3)/-4 = -1/2 (1-√3)
= ½ (-1--√3)
=1/2 (√3 + 1)
hope this helps
