I could do with some advice in this area too, when I drink beer especially it seems as though I have the bladder of an 80 yr old woman.
Since two have already confessed, i will too, l have the same problem. Well, it depends how much and how quickly l drink, say l knock back 300+mls rly quickly l'm off to the loo 3 times that hour.

No more diarhettics.

Drink less tea, and coca cola.

I don't buy into the idea that a method will aid the building of ones bladder.

when you're peeing, midflow clench the muscles and stop the pee midflow.now you know where the muscles are,do it a lot.whenever you're waiting for the bus or anything.it makes the muscle stronger, meaning you can hold the pee in longer, and you won't wet yourself if you sneeze accidently or too strong

Don't just hold it in when you need to go though, especially if you're male, as this can damage the prostrate gland, and you don't want to be messing with that little time bomb.
I have the same problem, but I don't even drink alcohol or caffeine drinks. It happens when I'm anxious or when I've eaten too much sugar :s-smilie:

makes long journeys a bit of a pain, because I insist on stopping a lot, and then I get anxious before going anywhere... vicious circle. *sigh* Tried all sorts of physical and psychological treatment - it's getting better gradually (probably just a confidence thing, through good experiences), but it's pretty affecting :frown:

Added a few minutes later: just realised all three above posters are male. I get kinda embarrassed about this... especially when out with guys. I don't REALLY care, as such, what people think of me, but would it put people off, if I was, say, going to the loo every half an hour?
yeh, anxiety is the worst, l'm disabled so sometimes when l'm on holiday i find the toilet down a very nasty stair l can't climb and l go to bed thinkin 'must not need a piss and wake dad up', sure enough 3 hours later.......................

Girls go more often (in general) than guys, but every half hour would strike me as a little strange.
Do you have diabetes? Your response to sugar indicates it

Eat more salt and other electrolytes, though it means that the water will be stored on your body/under your skin at least it won't mean you pee yourself!
you'll swell.don't take too much salt
How often should a person normally go if they are drinking a normal amount and the weather isn't too warm?

if you need to pee its because your body needs to. if you hold it in for too long, the urine will travel back up your tubes and you will end up damaging your kidneys. being on dialysis is not fun and certainly not preffered to having to pee regularly.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol, stick to water, exercise more. Salt will increase water retention but could cause noticeable bloating, not to mention high blood pressure, but then, there's always a trade off.

You will get cystitis if you hold it in :frown: and it is so so nasty....

I've got a tilted womb, so it actually leans on my bladder tubes meaning if I dont drink 2.5litres water a day to keep, um `flushed through` I end up with endless urine infections / cystitis. :frown: (Iv actually got one now boo!)

Trust me, its better to go to the loo a lot than be on antibiotics a hundred times a year...
It's not every half an hour all the time, just when it's bad. At best, maybe two or three hours, when I'm relaxed and at home. Compared to my sister, who can go maybe 8 hours all through the day at school, it's really bad, but provided it doesn't flare up, I'm alright. Just hate that it stops me doing some stuff... an example being going punting in Cambridge - obviously if I need to pee 20 minutes after I get in - what then? :0

Stuff like that. *sigh*

Hmm, well, even so, might be worth getting a diabetes test if eating sugar increases the frequency of it. If diabetes is causing it, then you can bring it back to normal levels

Oh, heh, right, yeah, forgot to answer  the doctor did do a diabetes test about half a year ago (I've had this problem for maybe 3-4 years now) and my levels were fine, which is kindof a relief because diabetes is horrible, but then at least it would be an excuse and I'd have treatment for it.
I need to pee all the time.
Like 15 mins after I drink anything I need to pee.

Yeah it doesn't bother me enough for me to change my entire lifestyle.
