A cold and nasal spray question.

Hiya,

Basically I have a party saturday and friday.
I have a bad cold at the moment, and the parties will be full of single girls, and I won't get anywhere if I am all gunged up and yucky with cold.

Im eating lots of fruit, drinking green tea and keeping warm, to try and get rid of it by friday, but if worst comes to worst, would a nasal spray make it all subside for a few hours each night?

Thanks

P.S Have posted anon because I have been a little harsh to people lately and don't want my username revealing to sway their opinion, becuase I really want this adivce.
I use the Vicks Sinex Nasal spray...

...and I find that it doesn't cure a cold completely, but it does make you feel better for a while. And its worth paying a couple of pounds extra for the Vicks one, as opposed to the 99p ones that are available. You could give it a try!
Agreed. Something like that or Otravine or Sinex etc. etc. They cost a bit but work miracles for unblocking your system. Use it not long before you go, because they start to wear off after 4-5 hours.
Vitamins! Well, take them to avoid colds in the first place...doesn't really help you now though....

Sudafed if you're stuffed up, helps rid congestion. And nasal sprays. And if your nose looks all sore and red, try Happi-nose!

i take decongestant tablets and they clear me up for a few hours..
I tried actifed (same thing thats in sudafed) tablets a while ago when I had a cold to clear me up (long time ago now ) They were rubbish.
If I've ever been a bit bunged up since, I always put a blob or vicks vapour rub into a bowl of hot water and sit inhaling that with a towel over my head. The steam make sure it gets right up into the nasal bits where its needed. If you're really desperate, and a bit bored, it says all that here: (http://www.pharmj.com/pdf/features/pj_20021026_coughsandcolds.pdf)

Good luck!
