It was, a classic rivalry, in its time. I think the loss of firebrands in the teams, i.e., Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane, means we won't get it back. And there isn't the same contempt between the two managers; they both really respect each other now and each has their own agenda witht he new kid in town at Chelsea. But yeah, if Arsenal can develop a ruthlessness, I can see the return fixture meaning something. If the remaining games in United's 2006 don't kill our form.

Har-de-har, I like it when scousers lose :p:
BBC seemed to be making a big deal of benitez playing Gerrard out of position. Personally, I just think it is an excuse to defend Gerrard playing crap all season :p:

Take off your anti chelsea glasses and see him for what he is. I would love him at Anfield and you would love him at your souless bowl.

He is on form, and scoring for fun.

Form wise I guess it's fair but not in terms of ability.

Why not? He does a job and he does it well. "Best" isn't about ability alone; infact effectiveness counts for far more.

Drogba wouldn't fit alongside Henry... and Henry does more for the team - and the game.

I agree at the moment but Henry will have his crown returned in a few games.

Actually come to think of it im going to go for a player called Milito. He plays for Real Zaragoza and has scored 8 in 8 games. Drogba is playing well at the moment but as i said i think Henry will be banging them in for fun in the next few games.

Id rather have someone who was effective then someone who had ability.

Yes but is Drogba going to be this effective the whole season? Are players like Henry going to be banging in wonder goals come next week? On form I guess he is up there (behind Van Nistelrooy) but on average Henry, Eto etc will put in a better performance. Effectiveness is directly related to ability anyway

Drogba, whoever said Eto'o, how can he be the best striker at the moment when at this current time he's injured.

So shouldn't that make them the bigger club of the two, going by what has been said about Everton.
That's just ND's point, it doesn't :p:

In my opinion at the moment means recent form over the last 3-6 months. Otherwise you would have a procession of different strikers based on flavor of the week.

I still suggest Etoo, but if you use a more narrow definition of the term I could suggest the following:-

Louis Saha
Didier Drogba
Ruud van Nistelrooy
Klaas Jun Huntelaar

In my opinion the three current best strikers in Europe are Henry, Drogba and Etoo. Drogba although has not over the last two seasons scored as many goals as a 20 million plus player should. This season Drogba looks like he has a raised his game a level or so.
