Lip picking

Any other people out here mutilate their lips by picking the skin often til it bleeds? I genuinely find it relieves stress; and it sounds sick, but it's like ripping wallpaper-it's really nice to get a long strip off. I never was able to stop doing this, and I prolly never will.

My bf does that til it bleeds. i kinda bite the shin on my lip. i dunno why though.

I sometimes like it a little when it bleeds (I'm a sick and kinky little bleeder :biggrin:

), a little frisson of feeling because it's often I'm doing it for a kick. It never helps that my parents trivialise the problem because it reinforces my doing it. Still if I ever wanted to be a goth I have instant lipstick kinda... :smile:

I recommend vaseline for those dry lips sir. I've heard it's also good for other lips, maybe i'll find out first hand someday :biggrin:

I've tried Vassy, it doesn't tend to work and I don't have the sticking power to keep using it lol.

Try Aquaphor. It's hella good for chapped lips.

jus try lip ice or whatever its called, lip balm.
most guys wouldnt wanna use it but it softens the lips and stops the cracks.
i only pick at mine when they are dry, but i do it with my teeth :redface:

but when i put like lipgloss or lip ice on it it stops me from doing it :smile:

Yeah! I always pick or bite my lips and I don't realise I'm doing it.

Yes, exactly. And when my lip bleeds, it's not that I like it, but I'm so used to it, it doesn't bother me anymore. I hardly even notice.

Only a small amount when bleeding; at the beginning of a bleed pick as it were, it can be painful, but it's almost addictive/unimportant. A lot of people dismiss it with regards to real self harm, but the ideas and motives are prolly the same, just on a smaller scale.
