I wanted to send back an email to ask but I dont think its a good idea. I would love to get some feedback. Do you know any way to get any feedback?

Apart from sending an e-mail, unfortunately not. and you?
why do you think it is not a good idea?

why did they reject you! nothing to reject you other tbh....this is truly amazing and shocking!

If I know I would not be rejected. I have no idea. Many ppl are shocked as well not even an interview.

i sent off my work it catz ages ago (well a week i think) and the deadline is the 21st to send it so surely they can't make us wait until then because that's not long enough for me to book a flight (im offshore).

anyway looks like they haven't sent anything to any subject yet. wish they would haha

I havn't and thats why. I started STEP by a practice of STEP2 in Y12 which I got abt 160 but I didn't take STEP in Y12. Other ppl who took STEP in Y12 have more advantages. This is what some Winchester students told me.

While accepting that “political” pooling is to some extent inevitable, Colleges should recognise that pooling applicants with no realistic prospect of being made an offer by another College increases work for their own admissions staff and CAO, reduces the effectiveness of the Winter Pool by wasting the time of those “fishing”, and raises false hopes in the applicants concerned. For all these reasons, Colleges should endeavour to minimise the amount of “political” pooling.

Wow that seems like a majorly dickish move.

what even is a political pool. I meet the criteria to be automatically pooled anyway. I guess that's something :P

I would look like an idiot and they would reply back how they feel that other ppl are smarter than me.

Nice to see you again!

GAH that's so frustrating! But you'll make up for that mark this year, but still; it's so unfair! :frown: still, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Good, the BMAT will definitely help

I know what you mean, I make silly mistakes all the time; I went from 97%+ in Physics past papers to 88% in the actual one, I know it's not as much as yours, but I still wonder where that 10% disappeared to!

It really is! I was so annoyed when I heard the result. I thought if I was going to get a B in anything it would be in Music! Aye, i'm pretty sure I'll get at least another 20 UMS in the resit  just hope that's my only downfall and the interview (if I get one) goes well!

What were your other scores?

I think the only sort of response you'll get at this stage is one about the relative strength of other candidates. They haven't interviewed you, so cannot give any specific details to why you aren't suitable.

completely agree keynesian.

I'm assuming it would be putting less than ideal applicants into the pool in the hopes of another college getting them, pulling their average grades and such down.

If they know why then it should be okay:smile: Besides, Math is probably the least relevant subject to what you will study, so it shouldn't really matter:smile:

Ooo nice selection! I applied for Civil Engineering at Nottingham, UCL, Leeds, and Loughborough  have an interview for UCL on the 30th and am ****ting myself a little bit..... :/

Hopefully! Good luck for the 30th! It might be good practice for Cambridge! Let me know if you get an interview and when and stuff

so if I got rejected,I can't even think of being pooled?

does the information about being pooled is sent by a college at the same time when it notifies a person that he or she has been rejected? or is it sent afterwards?

well, I don't even hope to be pooled, but I'm just curious

Basically colleges send a letter to each applicant that says they've either been accepted, pooled, or rejected.

How do you think I feel? D: 3 most relevant:

Maths: 97%
Bio: 92%
Chem: 79.67% >.>

Then 86% in Music, but that's not really relevant

I'm resitting obviously, i'm predicted 3A*s and an A so hopefully they'll take that into account! I'm applying for Vet Med at Downing!

I'm similar-

Geography- 98.5%
RS- 94.5%
English- 81% :/
Maths- 78% :/

But there's a reason as to why the last two are so much lower, so I hope they take that into account!

And YAY! someone else for Downing!
