I got mine for medicine yesterday by email (EU student). The letter was dated 17th, so I guess most letters will be arriving on monday.

Maybe the order of interviewed candidates has something to do with UCAS Numbers, rather than names.
I don't think it's something we need to worry about anyway, they're unlikely to rank us pre-interview. That could cause prejudice.

According to some medical students at Caius, that's exactly what they do for their medicine interviews. And then the interview is mainly for the students they are unsure about. Don't know how much truth there is to this though.
Either way, as you said, I doubt interview times have anything to do with the quality of the applicant.

They absolutely do rank candidates pre-interview else how would they decide who to interview? (I asked an admissions tutor about the system but he didn't seem to feel comfortable about answering my question.)
