Oh yes, forgot to mention that I'm pretty tall and my legs are long. My bum is also quite small in proportion to the rest of me, so it doesn't stick out!

I'd say skinny jeans aren't a good look on curvy people. They tend to suit people who are slim. However there are some stuff that I find looks really good on curvy girls and doesn't really suit the skinny jean wearing thin girls. I'm a very lanky person and I find I look good in skinny jeans but can never wear tops that are low cut or large in the chest area. Blazers don't really suit me either as I find they look better clinging to some curves. Don't follow fashion trends that aren't the best for you, it's better to wear things that you know work for your figure. I was never into baggy trousers when they were fashionable because they made me look too boyish!

hmm I'm not too sure. I don't think their flattering on many figures at all. If you're too curvy, they emphasise this. If you're too slim this is also emphasised. I don't think many people can pull them off to be honest, but that is personal opinion.

I think they really do look good on girls with boyish figures but yes, they can emphasise the wrong parts if you're very curvy. But then skinny jeans weren't designed with curvy people in mind anyway, I guess.

I agree with a lot of the previous posters that you can't jump into a trend just because it is fashionable to be seen in the 'in' thing. I'm skinny, particularly around my waist and arms, but i have hips and my legs, although long, are not skinny and without defined ankles. I have experimented for years with different shapes of clothes so i can show my curves when i want (wrap dresses etc.) and do the rock/boyish look with clothes that focus on other areas. Ultimately though, it is about what you feel comfortable in and what makes you feel good. I've been sneered at many times by girls on the tube etc saying 'eurgh she hasn't even got an arse to fill those jeans' but i dress for me not them.

I have had exactly the same experience. I wore skirts for two years (literally, no trousers) until skinny jeans, which are amazing!
god, im exactly the same. i even wore skirts when it was snowing! jeans used to annoy me so much, pulling them up constantly. after looking around a lot, i finally found the ruby skinny jeans from oasis and haven't taken them off since. I'm 5'11, and a size 14, but everyone always comments on how great they look, fitted round the bum and thighs, they actually make my legs look a lot thinner than normal bootleg jeans.

and i beg to differ in the skinny stakes, i've seen girls who are stick thin wearing them and it just doesn't look right, makes them look even more of a rake. the whole point of the skinny jean is to show off and flatter your figure, on really skinny girls, it just makes them look ill.

i alway says this though, it is a matter of how you wear them too. i hate the waistband of any bottom on my hips so always wear a longer top underneath, with a belt over, which hides this. larger girls an definately get away with wearing the skinnies x

Skinny jeans on curvy girls? Like, wtfeva. No offence ****s but people should wear *what suits them* and things that are most appropriate for their figure!

Skinny jeans don't look good on curvy girls [IMO it's better to have a curvy, feminine figure than be a stick ].

I'm really suprised about that - some people can be extremely catty when it comes to stroking their own egos...

But there is a should or shouldn't. Skinny jeans just don't suit [properly] curvy girls. So why wear them?

I wasn't being didactic and prescriptive when I said "should", but merely stating that sometimes people shouldn't wear things if it's not going to flatter their figure.

Ballet shoes don't flatter feet, but they're fashionable and lots of people wear them. Those god awful bomber jackets don't suit anybody, but lots wear them. Ugg boots look like vomit dribbling down your leg, but people still wear them. As long as the wearer is happy, does it really matter?

Actually, in this case, I guess it does. The original poster would never have asked this question if they were comfortable with wearing anything they wanted.

I think it totally depends on what you mean by skinny jeans - theres skin tight and theres a slightly looser fit (more akin to straight-leg cut). The latter would look fine, the former looks nasty regardless of the wearer.

CURVY GIRLS CAN WEAR SKINNY JEANS!!!

you just need to wear them rights, if you have larger thighs wear a long top and boots, this will look fabulous! Also, go for a darker colour leg, the new black baxters are very flattering! Do not however attempt to wear light grey ones or white - only people like kate moss and sienna can get away with this!

Curvy girls CAN wear skinny jeans, BUT they weren't designed for curvy girls. They've deliberately left very little room in them because they were designed with less curvy girls in mind. Sure, wearing boots with them would help to balance a person out, but the jeans themselves would be very restrictive. If that makes sense... :p:

I'd say no-one over a size 14 really. I'm "curvy" and I would never, ever wear them! I'd look terrible. Then again if you're a size 116 and beautifully toned why not give them a go if you like them? Personally I think they are a horrendous trend and it makes me cringe when I see troupes of teens all wearing the same jeans while shopping on a saturday! Everyone steer well clear of the baggy on top, falling down a bit and showing your butt crack and yet skin tight on the bottom ones, they're horrific!
