Ah well, you can always visit.
I hope I get a slightly better bed than the one I slept in when I went for my interview though, it seemed to have lost a great deal of its spring.

lol! Yea i hear Jesus students are the coolest, so ill be around there quite often me thinks! I spent a few days in Magdalene with students that i met at my interview, just for fun, they're all so friendly! Only things i dont like about it is that it doesnt have its own on site sports ground (like jesus) and it has a super busy road next to it (unlike jesus!)

Isn't it a good thing that you're not going where your ex is?

I certainly am.

I've got a friend at Magdalene - he told me about the lack of sports facilities which put me off a bit. What put me off even more was the interview requirements, essays and so on. Jesus on the other hand was relatively "easy". Though they suddenly decided they wanted a TSA when I got there.

yes, but when we were together and i realised she was going to jesus college it was like rubbing salt in an open wound (well, not THAT bad) because i applied to somewhere else before i even knew that jesus was great!

definetly now its a good thing, because we arent speaking to each other anymore, (we're both members of this site - en passant) had a few troubled months :frown: and things'll never get better - according to her... so yea defo a good idea that im not going jesus! beautiful and rich as it is... *bashes head against a wall*
Re: The STEP discussion on the previous page.

I definitely stick mostly to pure, especially on STEP III. There's a remote chance I'll do a mechanics one on II if most of the pure are uninviting and there's a nice 'mostly-algebra' question about projectiles or something. Stats is too unpredictable - I can go all the way through a question thinking I'm doing fine and end up with a probability of 3.

I'm pretty sure I could pull off a 1,2 on a goody day, with enough of my kinds of question. Whether that happens is up to fate.

Damn you! :p:

*waves another custard cream*

Im running out of these now!
lol, you waving that in front of Wanderer? I'm not sure he is so easily seduced, you could say he is insatiable...maybe.

Magdalene is alright, it is in close proximity to John's after all.

I was hoping it would work on all mathematicians, proof by induction and all  :p:

Oh dear god, FP2 was a bit of a bitch. I like imploded on question 6, until I realised I was being stupid and n=1/h :p: (this will only make sense to YYYY and me). I almost didnt manage to do some of the questions, although I was one of the only ones in my class to actually do them all. God if this is anything to go by FP3 will be disgusting, I was expecting nice, dont need to think about it, past paper style questions. I dont like being made to actually think in an exam, its not fair :frown: :p:

It was a real stinker. That series question was worth way more marks than 3! I'd have been loving it if the paper was like the one in Jan (or even the specimen paper). This one actually took the hour and half given!! What kind of A level maths exam is that?! Ridiculous! There's some discussion in the maths forum if you want to see (and if the server actually lets you). I'm on msn if you want to discuss it:biggrin: . I think the little man on the top right of this post should allow it.
Little man? lol.

Anyway, talking to a couple mates earlier who sat M2 (Edexcel) - they said they didn't like it too much...maybe today was destined to have hard exams, dunno.

If you have ever done decision maths though, that really does take the full 90 minutes. And I have a D2 exam on Thursday and haven't started revising for it....tis a nice feeling knowing that it doesn't matter, don't need to fret about it
Making you do FP2 this early is criminal. OCR, right?

I had my first exam today, M2. Not too bad at all.

Its worth a shot, damn these mathematicians they dont follow their own rules of induction!
What is your inductive reasoning, such that if mathematician k is mesmerised by biscuits, then mathematician k+1 is as well?

Sigh...seems i'm a little late in terms of jumping on the bandwagon and finding this thread...

Anyway just wanted to say hey to everyone and exclaim my dislike of that OCR FP2 Paper-twas nothing like the specimen paper or most of the past papers. Timing was very tight! I'm never going to get this A in further maths... damn it!

Oh old school template I haven't yet filled in:
College applied to: Christ's
Course: Medicine
Conditions: AAA (A in further maths, and Bio+Chem)+AEA Chem Merit
Deferred entry? Nope
Nationality: I'm a BBCM (British born chinese malaysian) but i'm a banana-yellow on the outside white on the inside (damn hegemony).
Where are you living right now: In a boarding school known as Christ's Hospital (Not an insane asylum, no i'm not a Bible freak-christ is just coincidence as I applied open and yes we wear yellow socks)
A few details about yourself: I've got short black hair and I play fives (a very geeky squash like game). I have tonnes of geek chic appeal, and I am of course head boy at my skl. I'm also v into rock and classical. Nice.

Sorry for interuppting and barging in like this. I just didn't want to be lonely...
