hmm favourite donne poems. tis difficult! i like a valediction: forbidding mourning and the good morrow, the flea, the canonization, the sun rising, the list goes on AND on....also like the religious ones like o my black soul!, batter my heart, i am a little world and the one with the lines "arise/arise you numberless infinities of souls..." i like one of the elgies (sp?! ) as well. but thats only a small selection cos i could spend all day talking about j.d. really!

i got an AAB offer but im not really sure why. i am doing AH but some people who are doing AH and who applied for medicine got AAA offers anyway as Loocy pointed out. i think its because my third AH is english and thats not really THAT relevant to medicine....either that or its just girton's policy with scottish students!

College Applied to: Fitzwilliam
Course: Law
Conditions: AAA
Deferred: Nope
Nationality: Sri Lankan
Where I live: Sri Lanka
Myself: well...Im a highly opinianated person..heh..any topic, Ill have an opinion! I like parties and nights out, but Im the more "have a small drink with ur mates" type. I like classical music, love Josh Groban!! Thats enough of me!
How did I celebrate: I just couldnt believe; no one was at home at the time, so I just jumped up and said hoorah to myself, then called up my parents, and started crying on the phone with them!! Pretty lame, I know!
What will I do before coming to Cambridge: Just chill out and hang at home, enjoy my last few weeks with my girlfriend, and guess Ill read the books they send as the readin list; but I know it will involve a lot of partying and going out with my mates!!

Spent an hour today trying to get Arctic Monkeys tickets and failing miserably :frown:

Me too. Well not the hour, but the failing. Never got near them - most sites just said server busy, the phone was engaged and ticketmaster blocked me from 6pm til 6:03pm cos I refreshed the page a few times to see if they'd come onsale and if you visit too many pages in a set time they block you to stop touts. So basically whilst I couldn't buy tickets all the touts were getting theirs to put on ebay and buy 6:03 it was sold out. Hoping for an extra date but the schedule is so packed it seems unlikely. I'm really annoyed cos I missed out on the NME tour as well (and I love Maximo Park) - I was all ready at 9, by 9:10 they still didn't seem to be onsale and I had to go to maths and of course by the time I came back they were gone. i hate buying tickets, its so stressful!

but on the bright side i am seeing the kaiser chiefs in millennium square in april!

wow, 16 is young to be getting into cambridge! does that mean you're super brainy and ahead of where you should be? i thought you were 18 when you left school in australia, like over here? (although i must admit that my limited knowledge of australia is completely based on my neighbours obsession!)

will you still be 16 when you start, or will you have had your 17th by then?

I got an offer of 39 overall, including 7,6,6 at HL - they're the grades I was predicted, so it looks like they were being a little kind to me, hurrah! What was your offer, afoneleri?
mrmatty

if king's doesn't already have a colour, is purple taken? we all know it demands something regal...even though it seems to be full of communists :p:

We already tried purple for kings, but its taken:frown:

7,6 in HL chem and bio (either way around) and 7 in maths standard - no overall grade, to my relief, which means I don't have to fret about my French teacher being absent for the last 6 weeks...

i feel my friends are more irritated...:p:

I used to hold conversations purely of eddie quotes with one of the guys on my college course... but i feel it may have been for lack of original conversation - whoops!
