In no particular order, mine would be

    - The Velvet Underground and Nico
    - Tommy - The Who
    - Tea for the Tillerman - Cat Stevens
    - Surfer Rosa & Come On Pilgrim - Pixies
    - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie (Yes, I know...)
    - Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

I have to say that Joanna Newsom almost made it on the list, and I almost agreed with Blue Fairy on the 'Beginning Stages' of the Spree...

    1. REM In Time (everyone wants this but it's a great album!)
    2. The Paul Simon Anthology (Old Man music, I know...)
    3. Counting Crows, Hard Candy
    4. Oasis, What's the Story Morning Glory
    5. Rufus Wainwright, Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk
    6. The Shrek Soundtrack (because I figure I'd need some cheering up on a desert island...)

That was really hard. I think I need a lie-down now.

This is current, provisional, and subject to change at a moments notice (although the first 3 are unlikely to):

    1. Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
    2. Biograph - Bob Dylan
    3. O - Damien Rice
    4. Rock Action - Mogwai
    5. Silent Alarm - Bloc Party
    6. Action Packed: Best of the Capitol Years - Richard Thompson

The main reason R.E.M don't get a look in is because I can't choose between Up, Automatic for the People, and Document.

Yeah, I'm also rather indecisive, so if I re-did mine now it'd probably have changed...Especially since I just got Keane's new album this morning and it's rather good...
Glad to see so many R.E.M. fans (They're probably the only definite fixture of my list...)

Although nowadays we'd most likely be stranded with our mp3 players and no CDs anyway, and then we'd be concerned about devising an ingenious system of coconuts, seawater and pulleys to keep recharging them...

Pretty crap mp3 player if it only holds 6 albums though :p: I'm sure we'd find some secret hatch anyway, with computers etc, so we wouldn't have to worry

Yeah, but they'd be really old computers, I doubt they could even play Command and Conquer*! And having to press a button every 104 minutes would get kinda repetitive...

*Another CD I'd want to take to a desert island...
