So you're into the ancient wonders, i'm jealous if you've been to Egypt! My my, a simple conversation sounds a lot more clever with words like necropolisis..

I probably spelt it wrong..
Im into intresting things :p:
Yeh my dad had an appartment in alexandria, so i spent my year 6 summer holidays learning heirogyphics.

I love those stories you hear about candidates who plead/attempt to converse with the examiner. 'I'm running out of time, but If was allowed more I would have said..... *lists argument in bullet form*'

ive never done that...
however everybody in my year apart from me and a few others wrote a story about a character called The examiner and they had to mention 8 key words in the story,, they where something like, bitty pie, squirel, the da vinchi code etc (for general studies)

Yes! I remember being obsessed with mythology and Ancient Civilizations at that age. I did a project on the Ancient Egyptians and drew all these lovely heiroglyphs

Ahh yeh, all the games my friends played with General Studies. One was to get in as many Dylan songs as possible. I think the winner managed about 15?!

Wow, Egypt is fascinating, I always wonder at how there could have been such sophisticated civilisations, including the Greeks and Romans etc. and then there was the medieval time, which almost seems like a regression..

Anyhow, am getting sleepy so had best be bidding you all good night, am playing a bit of tennis tommorow, hopefully won't be as hot as today..so need to get enough sleep or will play worse than my usual poor performance!

Bye all!

apparantly its going to be hotter !

Actually, most of the course consists of proving that Cromwell wasn't evil - Charles I was just stupidly stubborn.

Xerxes's saving grace is that his name is 'Sexrex' backwards.

Our course was Soviet Russia, British Politics in the 1900s and Nazi Germany. Effectively what I'd studied at GCSE. And of course nothing like what those lucky lucky people will be doing next year.
I gather they start by looking at Caesar.
You guys have all become nocturnal, am i the only one still on a 'normal' sleeping pattern, although i didn't sleep much more than 4 hours last night, it was so hot!

I've done everything on my to-do list for today and its only half 10, i might start doing tomorrows things!

People at our school doing extension studies played drinking games for a term and learnt ballroom dancing during another, admittedly extention studies isn't general studies, its just some invention of my school to fill up the timetable in year 12, but i want timetabled drinking in year 12! (further maths people had an extra math lesson in that time, bah!)

sadly I've had normal waking time since I got chronic fatigue, bedtime is now 9pm. oh well. I'm a newbie on this forum, what's the intro thing?

College applied to: New hall
Course: Philosophy
Conditions: AAA
Deferred entry? No
Nationality: British (but not English, Scottish, Irish or Welsh)
Where are you living right now: Here  In the matrix
A few details about yourself: what do I say? "I think therefore I'm not" I like science, theology, philosophy, politics, music, archaeology.

My school just didn't do the general studies thing. We missed out. Although there always seemed to be someone playing poker in the common room.
