I know! I was convinced (sort of) I would get asked to go to Hogwarts! Even when I started Year 7 I thought maybe there was a mistake, and they would take me out of my comp and to Hogwarts!

I almost ran from Cambridge because it was too Hogwartsy!
Calm, people - it was a joke. <Pulls sarcastic face no. 384>
Good luck phoenix - often Oxbridge let students in when its just one point so stay optimistic! Thanks noonii - and im a little symmetry obsessed with my smileys lol!!

I actually wanted to be accepted to Hogwarts, kept dreaming i'd get a late offer in year 10 - in time for my NEWT and OWL exams!

Having left school the only thing that saddens me is knowing for sure that I will never be asked to join Hogwarts....that window is gone...

I know the following really should be in H&R, but everyone on this thread is so nice and knowledgable that im sure you'll be more help! Esp since quite a few of you are medics

Basically, i havent been well for about 3 or so months, and ive lost 2 stone since then. (this next part is gross - sorry!) im going to the toilet at least 10 times a day, with bloody and mucusy diahorrea, and have stomach pains throughout the day. Ive been reffered to a specialist at the end of this month, but what really worries me is the weight loss, because im very weak atm, and its preventing me from having fun! So does anyone have any ideas as to how i can put the weight back on? Because eating is so painful atm that i cant eat more than half my usual serving

my gran got this stomach ulcer thing and lost loads of weight and she's been drinking this stuff called complan which is like designed for putting weight on or something. is drinking easier than eating or has this not helped at all?

A few details about yourself: iam myrna (pronounced mir-nah), iam 17 but 18 very very soon, cant wait to throw away that fake id :P, i love music - alt rock is my favourite, i love adventure sports (even though my experience has only been as far as white water rafting and abseiling, even the idea of skydiving takes my breath away), iam a bit mixed up nationality wise, half dutch half indonesian - but lived in thialnd most my life, love tv shows (csi, oth, house, prison break..etc etc), love trying and learning new things (photography is top on my list), love partying, dancing, and like evryone else (hopefully) generally having a great time

well now the exams are over, and my results out, its been absolutely amazing! two months of nothing eating at your mind, or feeling guilty for going out when shouldve been revising or doing this or that for so and so, i feel like iam five again  aside from the fact that now iam completely broke.. i hope everyone is having the time of their lives, you all very much deserve it!

:yy: Lucky *******.
Uz Master, i think my brother had something similar at easter, he got two months off school, (oh to be in year 9 where missing that long doesn't matter, oh wait i don't even go to school anymore ).

Anyway the specialist put him on this really wierd diet, it was like no dairy, no fruit, no protein. Basically he lived on dry bread, plain pasta and plain rice for a month! And since carbs are the 'evil weight gain food', that might work, also he drank litres and litres of isotonic drinks, was so annoying when i went to the fridge to get some before training and he had drunk it all!

hope you get better soon, and you took exams feeling that ill!! poor you!

And at least you guys sleep long enough to had dreams, my little sisiter woke me up at 4 this morning because she wanted the loo (great in some ways, shes only been dry at night for like a month) but i could not get back to sleep afterwards, then at i finally dozed off at 7 and then overslept for netball and had to do extra laps because i was late without a good excuse!

I had a weird dream today, but I've forgotten what happened as usual. I know it was definitely weird because after I woke up I thought, "that was a weird dream".

My brother is a Sunday paperboy but he is also the "reserve" for when the others don't turn up, which is most days! So at FIVE IN THE MORNING the phone will ring asking him to do an extra round, and if that doesn't wake me up, my Dad yelling at my brother for not giving the papershop his mobile number does!
4 is earlier than 5, and my sister is perfectly capable of taking herself to the toliet, she just couldn't be bothered to walk so woke me up to carry her to the loo sit her on in and carry her back to bed, she never even woke up properly... i'm bitter, and tired!

I'm so tired at the moment. Had my last ever day at school yesterday, got my shirt signed by everyone! (including a lot of teachers) Its so weird to think Im never going to do any of the stuff that has been my routine for 7 years now! I feel really lost now!

Anyways, had the leavers ball last night, was really fun (although I got pissed pretty early, apparently we were only meant to take one glass of complementary champagne......ooops :p: ). Food wasnt brilliant but the atmosphere was!

The whole leaving thing never really quite hit me yesterday, but it has now and its making me really quite sad :frown:
When I left college it didnt hit me for a few weeks...then it was really tough - miss everyone so much!

had rehearsals at college from 10 am till 7.30 for fiddler on the roof - jesus im tired! Yesterday was till late as well ....grrr....!! Am going to sleep now - and yes it is only 8:28 :P

Don't worry about it

ugh I've been at work all day and I'm knackered.
Im first to post this morning!

HI everyone im off on the 15th on train trip to istanbul probably wont come on again till then be back in time for 17th 'shudder' - hopefully see you!
Im off on the 15th too - but im off to Poland, then around Europa I shall go, scary, need to plan it!!

17th im in Prague all on me lonesone....hmmm hope the results go well!!

Myrna - well done!! Fantastic result - particuarly with all the IBO mistakes!!
Yeah, well done Myrna! I half wish I knew my results, and half wish I didn't but a month is still too long to wait!

OK, crazynutter, you win on the earliness of your awakening, but how often is yours? Mine is pretty regular. Anyway, hope your sister gets sorted out with the whole toilet thing soon.

Also, a moan - someone gave me bad rep cos I asked what an Oxbridge Admissions tutor was. I was being sarcastic - it's pretty obvious what one is. The point I was making was how come some people have tutors dedicated to sorting out their application, whereas I was left almost completely on my own, and could never find anyone when I had a question???
Also, have fun in Poland and Istanbul, people!
