I got fed up of explaining what STEP is, so I just gave up and started saying "AA, plus decent grades in a couple of additional hard maths papers".

Yeah, I ended up doing that as well lol.
Saw an amusing sight today whilst out shopping in London. Walking along the road and see a shop called The Spy Shop - looks cool but keep on walking, three doors down I come acros the Counter Spy Shop - what's going on there!?!?!?!?

Also, anyone heard of the upcoming Sam Jackson film Snakes on a Plane? Worst plotline ever but looks hilarious - internet hype led to the inclusion of a typically Jacksonesque line - 'get the mother****ing snakes off the mother****ing plane'. Brilliant. Also video of some guy doing impressions of Christopher Walken, Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson being auditioned for it on youtube. Search for auditions and snakes on a plane - brilliant comic value.

I always say that they're 'Cambridge maths entrance exams'. And that I might or might not get it. And I'm about ready to throttle the next person who responds with 'oh, I'm sure you'll get in'.

Thankfully I haven't had many people say things of that ilk to me. (Don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing, mind.)

I do remember being asked where I was going to uni by a cabbie taking me back from the local station. I said "hopefully Cambridge", and I could've sworn he then informed me that it wasn't the place to go if you wanted "a bit of crack". Whaaa...?

He could be Cumbrian, in which case 'crack' would mean 'conversation'.

You learn something every day. Although I'm not sure if that makes much sense in that context.

It would round here. 'A bit of crack' meaning something like 'a good laugh' or 'a decent chat'. I thought of what Rpotter said first but was far too polite to say it.
only one month and 6 days left to wait!

"A bit of crack" could also mean a certain recreational drug...

Yes, I think everyone else was taking that one for granted, as per his original post. :p:

I like stating the obvious . It did strike me as odd though, that no-one had mentioned it yet.

Ah, okay. Bah, Cumbria, who'd have it. Well, apart from wanderer.

I can think of another context in which it makes sense, but you people would call me sick if I were to say it.

Wash your brain out!

Time is going so quickly! Rather than worrying, at the moment I seem to be in a state of euphoric denial or something :frown: I cant seem to come to terms with the fact that my exams are being marked and the results are coming soon

;danceboy; * music* ITs the final countdown...... *music* :musicus:
