And St Facebook and His apostles of St. TSR, the Virgin Romance.ucam.org, and His Holiness DC++...

Romance.ucam sucks.
Pembroke has now blocked DC++. that sucks too.
I'm sure you can find a way around it, after all...

Oh yeah, there are ways. But relies on people who actually knows stuff about computers.
is DC++ blocked in most colleges, or is it generally available (And if you happen to know specifically about Catz, that's cool too)

I've not been on the dchub for 8 months now. Can't really say. I think roughly 50% of the colleges are blocked.

I really want to bring my mini-fridge, but I'm a little worried as I read some colleges have banned them after one caused a fire in Emma..?
Mini-fridge ----> fire??

How :eek:?
Reply 4274
I don't follow why a mini-fridge in particular would cause a fire. I took physics :p:.

Fridges heat up the surrounding area, I would imagine. Not to mention the inherent safety problems of electricity, particularly when students with little thought of health/safety are involved. :wink:
well I don't think Emmanuel has banned them, even if it was involved in such an incident. In fact, in most rooms I think they provide them.

Refrigerator Fails, Leading to a Series of Explosions
A malfunctioning refrigerator triggered a series of chemical explosions when chemicals stored in the hallway refrigerator overheated. After the initial explosion, the company's sprinkler system turned on, and water mixed with the chemicals to create hydrochloric acid, causing another explosion. No injuries occurred, but 17 people had to be decontaminated.

You can only use BT at certain designated colleges... I can think of two.

Then again, I don't need BT or DC++ to get my dose of scrubs. I have other ways.
