so really this is just your interpretation

In a world where we do not know everything, how can we know anything?

my point exactly! no i will not allow you any suspicions, being accused a stalker for a year is long enough and i will not tolerate it anymore. finally, attraction - each to his/her own. you might think that intelligence is the main attraction, for example, but it doesnt imply that it is.

Then I'm sure you wouldn't begrudge an interpretion, seeing as you agree that absolute and infallible knowledge is an unreasonable demand.

Ahh, if only we could wave a wand and magically get people to trust us. I think such a task would be doubly hard over the internet. Please don't take it as a personal attack.

Absolutely - as I said, I believe attraction to intelligence is a comparatively rare trait. But what I was arguing was that, no matter what it is exactly that somebody finds sexually attractive, their attraction is still a biological impulse, rather than some romanticised and lofty idea of 'love'.

well, i took it personally. And if all you think of attaction is that its some biological impulse, then good day to you, madam/sir.
What else could there possibly be apart from biological impulse. So many people take statements like that the wrong way, apparently 'reducing it to Science' , think it's cold.

Well there's not a whole lot I can do about that.

I wish you well in your quest to find true love. But it has defeated greater men than you or I.

In many ways it is cold, I suppose. It would be nice sometimes to retreat into some sort of childlike reality where the world is no bigger than your town, all disputes are easily resolved, and the greatest problems in your life can be overcome by a well-timed ice cream.

so anyhow, back to less geeky things im to intoxicated for a discusion or debate on who boats my float and why.

Im so annoyed, i just got back from a rehersal/gig/mess up and ive broke my first ever guitar string after years... and it wasnt from playing, all i did was hold my mates lighter to the high e string to make it hot and it snapped...

Woooooow, guys take a chill pill as it were.

Without wanting to get involved in this, I would agree that love, lust and the like are biological impulses, however I would question your view that love is just a concept of society and nothing more than lust. Sorry for being a bit vague, but I dont particularly want to get into this discussion for obvious reasons.

Anways guys, lets just agree to differ and move on?

Why do stupid things happen to smart people? Life is so very unfair.

Oh come on - the first time in yonks that people haven't been arguing simply over how badly they're all about to fail their offers, and you want us to move on? Sadist!

Hmmm, well friendly debate is fine, but when it gets to the point of an argument I think it defeats the object of this thread.

Hmmm, got me thinking how a guitar string would move just after being snapped, it sometimes coil up and stuff? or just goes limp?
