Seems Caius does that every year - I've seen a load of photos of one of my friends there with camouflage paint on his face in a load of different pubs.

haha minto! i'll have to go and get some stuff for it like, despite the many different fancy dress costumes i've worn over the years none of them have been army-based. lol
I have made a startling revelaton about Medics. They should also be Mechanics. Here is why:

Okay, them there doctor people take that Hippocratic Oath. Now, I don't know that much about Greek, but what I do know is this: Hippo is the Greek for Horse and Kratos is the Greek for strength or power (as in democracy - power of the people). Therefore Hippocratic = Horsepower. This is how the power of car engines is measured or something. Therefore Medics = Mechanics.

Any medics out there know how to fix my car?

(Before someone points out that the Hippocratic Oath is from Hippocrates the name of the 4th century BC physician who is alleged to have started it, I am aware of this. I just think my explanation is soooooooooo much better).
What set that off? Has your car broken down? Pain. Another reason to hate driving! :p:

Random Greek related question - who was it who got hit by a tortoise dropped by an eagle?

*playwright. appalling
That's the one! thank you. I was trying to convince a friend that that really happened and it didn't help that I couldn't remember his name!

haha I think I first read it in one of those Horrible Histories books
Horrible Histories are great! Though the higher I studied history the more annoying the chatty bits about 'what a wierdo' or 'your teacher blah blah' became! :p:
we have a greek themed night during freshers' week at girton....ill need to try and fashion myself a toga....

i'm vvv amused by any adverts i see for snakes on a plane...but i know fine well id jump watching it anyway!
Just get an old white sheet. Simple. Snakes on a Plane is hilariously bad.

Last one I went to was a P party. I was going to be original and go as Pepto bismol, but I hate wearing pink.
Last one I went to was a fairy tale one. I didn't find out until the day that it was fancy dress and thus didn't have a costume. Picked out some crazy cool outfit and wrote on an address label 'the author' and stuck it on my chest. The outfit was vey authory though I felt.

My best friend also found out late. He put a little toy person his girlfriend had made him in his pocket and said he was the giant from Jack and the beanstalk.
