I have an iBook G3 SE with 366MHz PPC processor, 320Mb of PC133 SDRAM, a 10Gb HDD and a 12.1 inch 800 by 600 TFT monitor.

since we're talking about laptops, I'm typing this from my new laptop. arrived today, does everything i want it to. even surprised me with a fingerprint scanner :eek:

Hmm, I can't personally understand it when people moan about the iPod. I hear a lot of people (I'm not saying you're like this, you just made me think of it) who go 'but I've got a Creative Zen, and it's 1,000x better, iPods are well overpriced'. Actually, when you look at the syncing capabilities, the size, weight, and industrial design, nothing comes close (provided you like iTunes). I have no problem with a good product being ubiquitous.

Anyway, back to Cambridge. I went shopping for utensils, towels, etc. today. I got a kiddy dinosaur dovet cover and pillow case! :smile:

I spent the whole day with my college sister today! She's really cool, and we met up with a NatSci friend of hers who's already gone up (he's a rower) and we wandered in and out of all the colleges (well, King's, Clare's, St John's, Trinity and St Catz)

MacBooks and MacBook Pros are not overpriced. Compare them with similarly specced-out machines from other dealers and you'll see. (Don't forget that MacBook Pros come with a built-in webcam, and also have things like magsafe power cord connectors and an IR receiver for the [included] Front Row remote controller.)

I fail to see how you can call something overpriced based on it having features you don't want. If it has stuff you don't want, don't buy it, but don't call it overpriced when it isn't.
