Ah, but have you seen the new one? Because I was absolutely adamant that it couldn't possibly as good, that it would be a poor imitation, that nothing could ever match the BBC version, that no one could be Mr. Darcy like Colin Firth. The I went and saw it. It was a) surprisingly different, and b)surprisingly good.
I'm looking forward to never, ever writing a discursive essay again, whether I get into Cam or not. I'm also really looking forward to meeting a load of new people, which is odd, because I'm not that outgoing. Bordering on shy, in fact.
I just feel like I'd be betraying Colin if I saw it!! I suppose there wouldn't be much scope for essays in maths would there? "Discuss the impact of pi on the western world" Yeah I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone (I mean everyone) - and if you're not outgoing then don't worry, I'll more than likely end up coming to talk to you at least - I have no dignity; the fear of embarrassing myself in public is something that i've become immune to
you haven't LIVED until you've seen Colin Firth in a soaking wet shirt!
ewww i dont want to see him in a wet shirt! i always think of him in that really really bad film called 'what a girl wants' anyone seen it? so so bad...

The new Darcy is charming in a very different way. And I feel moved to point out (in this and every other Cambridge-related conversation) that I am nowhere near as close to a guaranteed place as all the non-mathsy people.

Hush, you're coming even if we have to smuggle you there. You can live in some basement like that weirdo in Desperate Housewives.
I am thinking that maybe all the male applicants are finding the conversation about Mr Darcy boring (although it could be worse, i can be posting pic of other cute guys)
That was the last film I saw too...thing about living over here in dear old Switzerland is that we get every film months after everyone else (I saw to my amusement this morning that Pride and Predjudice has finally arrived in Swiss cinemas! )
apparently critics nicknamed the movie brokeback mountain "bareback mounting" i thought it was hilarious
