They tend to expect us to be able to read their minds somehow. I haven't figured out the key to this telepathy yet.

it is hard ya know! how do we show that we like you without looking desperate, what do you want, a neon sign?

When girls are flirting with a guy they're talking to, they tend to do a lot of hair flicking, they get really touchy (as in they touch the guy a lot), they don't stop smiling, and they giggle at everything the object of their attention says.

Pfft. Amateurs.
Giggle at their jokes, even when they aren't funny...
Usually a good sign if a girl does that.

Aww... someone beat me to it! oh well, proves how true it is!

Neon signs, posters, banners, flares, fireworks, all would be good.

But seriously though, some girls are so cryptic. Like there's this one person who is constantly looking at me and smiling. Does she like me or is my hair sticking up or something?

Okay, as no other girls seem to have replied.... It's mostly common sense stuff really..smiling more than usual (unless you're a sunny person like myself anyway  ) but more likely (at least myself) coy, girly smiles.. flirting (naturally) in a sort of teasing, jokey way...touching you on your arm or whatever...looking into your eyes a bit longer than usual..or if I was out somewhere and saw someone I liked the look of catching their eye, smiling, looking away, looking back..dunno what else really, hope that's vaguely helpful?

I imagine the same as what most blokes would do when talking to someone they fancied, eyeing them up subtley-heh heh- and listening to what they have to say/ asking lots of quetsions/enjoying the conversation etc.

yes but we care! ok i like a guy who doesn't even realise i exist, i can't talk to him often because i dont get the chance how straight up can i make that one then?

Come on we aren't actually that complicated, well...some of us aren't!

Go up and talk to her and see if she exhibits any of the other signs that I detailed above. Overly-giggley is the surest bet.

seriously. if a guy knows you like him it would double your chances x10! knowing someone likes you naturally makes you feel more attracted to them. it is human nature
I reckon most girls would pay alot of attention, get a convo going, acted interested in the convo etc. Maybe laugh at your non funny jokes. And smile. Oh, I almost forgot the classic. This is what my friends do. When a boy says something like a slightly jokey insult, they will lightly punch them or push them away, or say 'stop it' in a whiney voice. And then the boy will persist, leading them into a playful fight.

However I myself am the opposite, acting aloof and uninterested, looking away, staring at really boring things or at other people. I look completely miserable, make them think I have no interest whatsoever/they have no chance. Any little slightly jokey offensive comment which they make will result in me giving them the biggest evil and the silent treatment. A bit childish, I know.

So unless this girl is a weirdo like me, it should be quite obvious.
i always seem to end up talking about footie ... i think ive been told what the off side rule is a million times , and i still dont know what it is.... but it has ya guys talking for a few hours lol
I have never ever talked to either female or male about football by choice :|

lol same here, I used to think it was when the ball went out of the sidelines but a few years ago I found out it was something to do with not being allowed to pass in front of another player .. or something  It makes no sense.

Gah girls acting ditzy about sports drives me up the wall. Most guys I know get annoyed if they have to explain rules to girls, ESPECIALLY if they're trying to watch the game at the same time.
