iron tablets for tiredness

I find that im always tired, prob due to the fact that my sleeping patterns are vv disrupted (being at uni and all.........). I know the best way to rectify this is just to go to bed at a reasonable hour... but has anyone taken iron supplements for this and do they work? or are there other supplements that would help? cheeers

Taking more iron will make you more awake because it will help your blood cells get more oxygen through the bloodstream, but only if your iron deficient to begin with. Iron deficiency is what leads to tiredness so unless you are iron deficient it will not have an effect.

I have the same problem as you, my focus is trying to wake up at an earlier hour although so far it has proven very difficult but I still believe it is the best solution.

Also keeping your mind less active before bed time usually does the trick.
Ginseng is a natural proplus
There's no such thing as herbal medicine. It's all a bunch of crap you buy for crazy prices and are mostly placebo's. Anyways, I was like you until I started sleeping at normal times.

Caffiene ftw

I don't endorse caffiene abuse
oo me :p: lol I used to feel exactly the same as you and i went to my local GP about it and she prescribed me an iron suplement called Pregaday. After taking the tabs for 2 weeks as the doctor said, i then started to see the full effects of the tablet and began to be less tired.

So i would advise you asking your doctor for iron supplments and see if they work for you

Hope that helps :hugs:

Iron tablets only really work if your anaemic, just stick to caffine like the rest of the world.

I have iron-deficient anemia so I get tired real easily plus I have low blood pressure. the iron pills I took helped a bit.
