Nipple Piercing

People, I know that there was a very similar thread a few weeks ago but i still need more information: Im want to get my nipple pierced and even though i 'cracked' my father im still in the process of persuing my mother. I did some reaserch and apparently there are some complications, but then again, all piercing do. I just want some proof that it does not affect breast feeding. Thanks so much.

well if you want to do it then do it but i could lead to an infection or sometings like that and i think it wont stop breast feeding...and if i was you i wuldnt to it and if you would like to then go ahead but i dont think its a good idea how about a belly button instead...?

everyone has a belly button peircing. why wouldnt you do it? A belly button piercing could also get infected.

belly buttons are more likely to get infected apparantly. i don't like either tho so i can't really comment.

I just wonder why you would need to tell either....! Its not like they would ever see it and well its quite a private piercing right? And if I were to get a nipple piercing, the last person I would tell is my dad lol.

But I guess this depends how liberal your parents are.

What's wrong with you? Are you into magnetic bondage or something?

come again please?

My parents are quite liberal and i want to be fair. Ill tell them, I dont want to have secrets. you know? Why dont you people like the piercing? I think it looks nice and I like it because its private at the same time.

Of course there is the possiblity of getting an infection. I was just wondering whther it affects breat feeding. I think that the best thing to do would be to talk to someone that has it or a doctor or something.

basically, if you pierce your nipple, it usually is pierced across the, for want of a better word, tube that the milk comes out of for breast feeding. therefore when the piercing heals, the tube is effectively cut off, althoguh this doesnt happen to everyone.

also it's far more serious if your nipple gets infected than if your belly button gets infected. one of my friends has no nipple on her left breast because of it. and it can be the ultimate pain if it catches on clothes.

however, if its what you want, i'd talk to a hygenic piercer or a doctor.

There are people on this forum who have it, search the nipple thread and maybe pm them about their experiences. At the end of the day, unusual piercing dont go down too well with people not accustomed to them.

If you just get one breast done you can always feed with the other, although they will be different sizes then...
thank goodnes..some teenagers thinking about breastfeeding!

it would be a real shame if you couldnt breast feed properly for your child because of it...i personally dont know the answer to whether/how it effects that function,..but the girl who said it heals the passage closed sounds like she might be right

anyway...if that is the case...id urge you to reconsider, becuase the mothers milk is THE best start you can give your child, my mums a midwife and she just wishes that more people did breastfeed, its SO imprtant for a healthy baby, she cant emphasise that enough...im glad your considering how it might effect your ability to breastfeed

its difficult to do that as far as i know..plus one would be really sore, swollen ...its not a practical option...

edit..just been brousing google...seems that rarely effects breastfeeding...they just recommend to remove the jewel so the baby can latch on properly/avoid chocking hazard

if that is the case..go for it...
