Hi All

The specialists will hopefully be looking over applications next week and decisions - if successful- should be emailed either at xmas or after the break. We have experienced issues with mycampus and have been forced this week to go back to paper based applications therefore all decisions may be delayed.

The No Vacancies means the course is now closed.

Hope this helps.

Miriam @Recruitment and International Office

Thanks for that information Miriam. Does that mean that universities won't get in touch between Christmas and New Year if we don't hear from them this week?

I'm guessing no one has heard back yet? Only a couple of days before the Christmas break! I'm excited about Christmas, but not so excited about having to wait :s-smilie:

I applied for Strathclyde first and Glasgow second. As far as I am aware no one has had a decision from Strathclyde regarding interviews yet so you can still be considered! The admissions office said they might not get back to us until January now as the office closes on Friday so fingers crossed!

I am also really excited for Christmas but also can't wait for January now for a decision one way or the other! I constantly have butterflies in my tummy!!

Happy Christmas to you all by the way!

So sorry to hear that.. but by the sounds of things you still have time for strathclyde.

So I rang edinburgh (impatience got the better of me yet again) and first round of interview offers go out tomorrow and friday. They really did stress that if there's not word but friday it does not mean you wont be interviewed or anything just not part of the first round.

I applied for both the same courses and heard back from Glasgow today. I was also unsuccessful too :-(

I am really worried that It is too late for Strathclyde Uni, I feel I really should have applied for Strathclyde Uni as my first choice.

Eek! Been refreshing Track all morning, I guess this is the last day we can hear before the unis go back in January!

Good luck all and hope you have a good Xmas!
NittyNat, the minute that there are changes on your GTTR you will receive an email  It will save you having to refresh. I used to check multiple times every day, but when a change was made I got an email the second it happened. What did you apply for?

Good luck

Thanks for the info! I haven't heard yet, so am hoping that they'll get in touch with the remaining successful applicants shortly after the New Year. I wonder what determines the rounds.. is it just as straightforward as those who applied first?

I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas and New Year without stressing too much about GTTR! And I've got my fingers crossed for us hearing back shortly after from our first choice, or for some people their second choices!

I've not heard either. I asked on the phone if it was people who applied first and they just said no that they had been pulling people to interview out since the start. Really hoping I get some good news in the new year!

In the afternoon! How about yours? I never thought I would say this but I'm a little disappointed there is only a group interview.
Did you get the email? It seems to cover all the questions for group discussion! Ahh I'm so excited!

I'm in the afternoon as well so might see you there. Any idea how many they'll be interviewing? I'm hoping for a small number - the less there are, the more likely we are to get places on the course!

Yeah the group discussion questions seem pretty standard as well so the main thing I'm thinking is to try and come up with something a bit different to say :s-smilie:

Finally heard back!!
Nothing updated on Track but I had a letter waiting for me when I got in last night inviting me for interview at Strathclyde. PHEW!!!
Feel so much happier, but also about 10 times more nervous!

Now for the silly girly question.....what is everyone wearing to interview?
I'm not a suit kind of girl, was thinking of wearing a knee length wrap dress and cardi?
Or should I wear a blazer/suit jacket with the dress....(I know this is a pathetic question!) :colondollar:

Haha not a silly question at all! I'm already obsessing over what to wear! Either option sounds lovely..
I still have no clue what to wear at all!
When is your interview?

Congrats on getting the interview with Strathclyde! When I log onto track it says 'Interview' next to the university, so might change to that eventually? Do you know what to expect from the interview process yet?

I was thinking the same thing about what to wear! I'm not much of a suit person either, so I guess whatever you find comfortable whilst still looking professional is good. I think I'm going to go for a plain knee length dress, with either a blazer or cardigan - will have to try them on before I decide lol!

When is your interview?

My interview is the 7th Feb, its quite nice to have a while to prepare and I am considering taking my last remaining holiday to do a little bit more work experience...
But that would mean no time off work until June which isn't the most thrilling thought!

Before I heard I had an interview I thought I had so many suitable dresses to wear now I keep thinking "maybe its too patterny/floaty/trendy etc" I don't want to go and buy a knee length boring dress to wear with flat "sensible" shoes to look like a stereotypical primary teacher as that really is not me.
I'm pretty sure I am focusing on panicking about my outfit so I don't start panicking about the questions!

The process for Strathclyde sounds really good, just a 15 minute interview and everyone watches a presentation about how the course will run. I was worried we would have to do a presentation or lesson so quite pleased its just an interview!
Hi everyone, hope you all don't mind me invading!! Firstly, good luck to everyone who has interviews coming up. I am currently a student at University of Glasgow trying to finish my degree in biology. I do want to go into teaching as it is what I have always wanted to do - preferably primary. I am hoping to apply for starting in 2013, so the next application cycle really. Has anyone got any advice? And are candidates with honours degrees only successful or is it acceptable to just have a normal degree. Any help/advice is much appreciated
