And for the record, the An-225 was parked in that exact same area, but turned round 90°, so as it was facing away from the bushes. The wingspan was so great it went across the whole (more or less) of that apron!

I'm in the RAF section of CCF at my school and I've got to go flying in the Tutor a couple of times near Liverpool. Really good fun most of the time and I've got to do combat maneuvers and aerobatics But there was one time the instructor really pissed me off  AND he broke the low flying rules over Liverpool!

Went to see the BA Flagship concorde, G-BOAC at Manchester today with the Loughborough Students Flying Club - got a technical tour and everything

Unfortunately, the weather was so bad I couldn't take any decent exterior photos, but it was still a great day. Those delta wings certainly provide good cover for 20 people from the rain

Really nice inside too

For those in the UK, how much to you estimate to spend from start to finish during your PPL journey?

Too much :p:

I'm looking at about £5 - £6k. Although, if I am incredibly lucky I could go to work at one company who will pay the whole lot!

Although I have a nasty feeling it's going to be well over £6k by the end of it...

It's pretty much the same as the USA - the CAA (Campaign against Aviators) have pretty much the same rules as the FAA.

I think you need a minimum of 45 hours including something like 10 hours solo. And all the necessary tests & medicals, etc. A PPL holder should be able to tell you more

Wow, that is expensive indeed. In Singapore one can expect to pay about $18k total, which is about £6k also. The prices are similar.

Learning to fly in the US is another matter though. As long as you don't live in the city, you could quite comfortably earn the license in US$5k.
