For a town, Reading is an expensive night out. Drinks (mixer) average £4.00 for a single. Compare this to Uni's further North and you'd get doubles for £3.

Hey there,

I've heard a lot about Readings nights out.. but mainly about how expensive it is compared to other places as its quite close to London..

I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on what its actually like and if its half as good as London..

Cheers United.

I doubt it. It might be half of a half of a half of a half of a half of a half as good as London.
If you are a student in a city whose name induces you to read, you won't have as much fun or as much female action as you could have in dirty London.

Seconded. There must be some half decent pubs, some of the societies have weekly pub nights so you'd hope so.

My course organises a termly pub crawl (and barn dance lol) so I would hope so too.

chances of getting mugged in London are quite high though, especially around Soho.
