Hi there! I'm from Singapore and have applied for the Jardine Foundation Scholarship as well. I have also yet to hear from them at all so I'm kinda worried that my application wasn't received by them. :frown:

May I know when exactly did they acknowledge the receipt of your application?

Oh hi! No worries, as I presume u send to the Singapore Office, right? I didn't send to that office as it seems to state that u should only send to the one for which your parents are based there for 7 years. When did u send off your info? I think different areas operate differently in terms of the timing they send off, if I am not wrong, it is processed in London?
I will check later as to what they exactly acknwledge as I leave my school email and the system is rather complicated(allowing specific timing to check, sort of). Btw, what EDU systems do u come from? Maybe, we are from schools nearby!

Yup I sent it in to the Singapore office. Ahh I see...thanks for the clarification!

Hmm I took the IB in Singapore in a school called ACS(I) (not sure if you've heard of it). You?

Hi there! According to what I heard, Jardine Foundation in Singapore didn't send an acknowledgement email this year. You'll only get an email if you get through the first "screening" and qualify for the interview.

Heyy! Seems you're right! I just received an email yesterday night regarding an invitation for an interview

I just got one last night too  Also applying from Singapore. When are you planning to have your interview? I don't know whether I should schedule one after the A Levels, might be too late though. You lucky IB kid! :P

Haha I arranged it to be on 4th November Tuesday. No issues for me since I'm currently serving NS (ORD soon!) and do not have exam obligations. Hmm..I would think that you should try to schedule it after your A levels so you would be able to concentrate on them one at a time. Not sure if they'll allow it though.

Anyway all the best for your A levels! Go on and ace it!

Thank you! All the best to you too! I just called the rep and before I asked anything she already settled it on 4th November ) She said as long as I did not have a paper it'd be OK. What time is your slot? I'm coming at 10.30

Oh damn. I have not heard back from Jardine. Is it a bad sign? I'm kinda scared that my application got lost in the mail or something. By the way, I am applying from Singapore, so yeah.

WOww! You are great- I am John who has talked to you earlier!
Now it's my turn to worry!!Didn't hear anything yet...... oh no:s-smilie:....!!!But given my ****ty IB marks.....I think I wouldn't hear anything. Btw, the acknowledge email is just like saying they received, don't think u will be interested to know the content! Oh yes, u have already taken your IB? What have u been doing in the year, apart form serving NS?
Anyone receiving an interview from Hongkong?! I mean those who sent their application there!(I am dying but now try to act cool)

I just got a call from jardine and then an email for an interview tomorrow o.o Anyone here made an open but applied as well? (applying from malaysia, for cambridge)

Hmm, I presume my school sent it in wrongly. My school is not one who gets students who have straight As, so they are not really familiar with scholarship applications and might have sent it in wrongly. I just hope it did not get 'lost in the mail'.

Till now, no word from Jardine, not even a confirmation email. :/ I contacted Jardine regarding the application, kinda sound despo now. Anyone from Singapore with the same predicament?
Hi! I'm from Singapore and my interview is tomorrow. I didn't get a confirmation email though, just the invitation for interview. So perhaps Jardine didn't send out any confirmation emails? Do any of you know how we're supposed to dress? I don't want to be too casual/formal :frown:

Just dress normally? Maybe formal, but not too formal (i.e. not like going to a white tie affair). Try to be comfortable, yet formal. Good luck!

My school sent it in on the 10th October, thereabouts. Hmm, you sent it earlier? Maybe I did not specify the interview location, since I am okay with being interviewed in Singapore. Dunno, they keep saying sports a lot of times. I never stated my NS achievements or any so called 'extenuating circumstances', just to make my application less 'whiny' and 'braggy'.

I too have no great academic achievements, just a lot of volunteering work done (through my initiative too and relevant to the subject I am taking).

Which school are you from?

Hwa Chong! What school were you from? I didn't really know what to add to my personal statement so I just threw in whatever I could. I think they sent it around 15-20 October?

I'm from a neighbourhood JC, those that are 12-14 pointers kind. I see, my principal did not write for me a reference, since it's not the JC's policy to do so. Hence, I only got my tutor's reference and my statement to support my app. I wrote a separate statement, not the one I sent to UCAS and it was quite errm, medium length? :P

Kinda crossing my fingers really tightly now...
