i guess thats the advantage of living at home, i currently work and feel that my priorities should be the PGCE and therefore have come to the conclusion of handing in my resignation in order to settle down good and proper. i cant wait to be honest getting back into the life of uni and study is amazing. keeps my brain active otherwise its in the gutters lol

just checked my emails to find i have a 2000word assignment and 3 further tasks to do and this to be handed in the 1st day i start 03-09-2012, bring it on!!! :smile:

Are you at Birmingham City/Birmingham? I'm at birmingham and haven't heard about the accommodation at Hamstead? I just thought that you could apply but priority is given to foreign students.

If you are interested in Hamstead, it may be worth looking on their website, it is privately owned so you don't have to go through uni...

How does the Bursary thing work? Where you get a certain amount of money for having a certain degree classification? I understand I'm entitled to 5k for my primary PGCE but I've no idea how I go about claiming it...

Hi,

The best option would be to contact your University as you should have had a letter or some form of documents sent to you in relation to payments, bursaries and so on, i dont qualify for a Bursary :frown:

as in funding towards my course... i will have to apply for a tuiton fee loan, govt. have cut down quite a lot

I haven't actually given my results over to the uni yet which I'll be doing this week at some point - when I take those in I shall ask them about the bursary :smile:

Gosh I wish I did!! I want to be doing SOMETHING but don't know what to do. Got a stack of books sitting gathering dust as I don't know where to start with them!! I'd kill for an assignment.... Can someone please give me one!!! :wink:

Ah i start monday too, im spending the last few days relaxing, catching up with my mates and getting organised, my son was back at school this week and my fiance works full time so im just rattling around the house all on my own at the min. Pure peace and quiet. I couldnt do this for more than a few days though, i like being busy!

How are you spending your last few days?

, watching some films, reading, games etc, not going to have time like this until the summer holidays next year

My little girl has just gone back to nursery full time to get her settled before I start, and my OH is a teacher so he's been around all summer but started back on Monday. So I've had the house all to myself and it's been a dream. On Monday I blitzed the house, Tuesday I went into a year 2 class to observe the first day back just so it hasn't been months and months since I've been in a classroom, Wednesday I watched the end of desperate housewives and sorted out our finances went for a run and then had a NAP, haha. Tomorrow I'm going swimming in the AM and then a wedding in the afternoon which just leaves today. Need to do the bathrooms and hoover upstairs but otherwise the day is mine... might just have another nap! :tongue:

I will be starting my Secondary Mathematics PGCE at the Grand Union Training Partnership (GUTP) next week. Anyone else on the GUTP (or has been there in previous years)? :banana:

It's a SCITT so it's a bit different.
