Choosing a college in or around London

Hello guys, I'm doing my GCSEs this year and I'm looking for a college in or around London. Can anybody suggest any college from your experience? At the moment my choice is City and Islington college, because it has AQA computing. If anybody could suggest another one I would be grateful  Thanks.

Don't pick a college just based on the fact they do AQA computing........................go somewhere like Camden school for girls, Woodhouse college, etc

Yes I was thinking about Woodhouse college as well. How should I choose a college then if not looking at the courses? I missed the open days :frown:

I went to Woodhouse college, it is a very good working environment.

Their a number of factors which matter:
Boards
Course available
Location
Quality of teaching
etc

You can't just base it on one alone........... also i don't recommend CNI at all

I paying attention to all these factors, but not by the last one, how should I know the quality of teaching, if I haven't been in the lesson?

Why do you think CNI is bad? I'm more in the Woodhouse side because their maths course is OCR MEI and from what I've heard it's far better.

CandI is a really good college, I don't take Computing but the teacher is my tutor there. She is really dedicated to her subject, has so much time for her students and you can always talk to her about stuff. The college is really relaxed as well without being stupid about following rules to the letter or whatever, so I really recommend it if you just want a good college to learn in as well as have a good time.

There's a woodhouse college thread on here..... so ask around........plus i went there..... as far as i can tell the quality of teaching is good in general..... though every department has their bad teacher.

CNI are in general are kinda bad..... people that fail or aren't able to continue at their current college after AS tend to go there.

OCR MEI is the hardest board, but it's good because it actually allows you to understand the maths behind it. Their coursework for the second year tho

ABBEY COLLEGE LONDON. - I'll be leaving there at the end of this year.. with hopefully AAA.

The college is in Victoria, London - on the Victoria Line.
Near to Buckingham Palace..

It specialises in Economics and Sciences - and has amazing student:teacher ratios.
In my class I have 3 students including me and then the teacher!

Truly is a great college - I think their internet site is down atm.. I'll find out though!

Im a resit student as at my old school I got CCD.. Came to Abbey College and did my AS last year and got AAC, now hoping to get AAA in my A2.
