Put into fractions:

12.5% is 1/8

450 is 9/8 of a standard jar
so 50 is 1/8 of a standard jar
so 400 is 8/8 of a standard jar

I'm not sure about standard grade!

It's certainly the case that it's often a good idea to be able to convert certain percentages instantly in your head into fractions:

2.5, 5, 10, 12.5, 20, 25.
