Are materials presentation has to be in in about 4 weeks (it's late because are teacher was ill last term) and I'm having a hard time deciding what to do.

At first I thought I'd just do alluminium but are teacher said I can't just talk about the general properties of aluminium I have to set it in a context. So I decided to do why is aluminium used in planes.

Now though looking over the mark scheme I see that you get markes for "calculations and arguments attempted" and not sure how I could really do any calculations in regard to aluminium on planes.

I still have time to change my mind so can anyone reccomend me a material or give me some good ideas for this one?

calculations for any material properties can be:
    stress/strain
    stiffness
If you look on this up on the internet then you'll get lots of graphs showing how the metal stretches and how much it can stretch before it snaps. These graphs are force- extension graphs.
This topic is covered in physics.
I don't know how confusing this is but i can go into more depth if you understand this

Oh no I understand what you mean, it's just I got the impression I then had to apply that information to my application quite specifically rather than just report on it and I'm afraid the mathematical design of planes is a little out of my grasps. I was hoping someone could give me an example of how I could link this information to the application.
