    Hi,
Is it possible to defer university for a year after you've actually started the course?

Surely you should be phoning up admissions to answer that questions? I know that doesnt answer your question now but they are going to be the only ones to answer it.

So long as you've got what your uni considers to be an adequate reason then probably yes. I took time out of my final year of uni, took two years off and then returned again and my uni was fine with it. I have problems with depression all of which were confirmed by my doctor, and my uni was absolutely fine with it. If you have a personal tutor assigned to you I suggest you consult with them - I think they're generally the best people to find out for you what is and isn't possible.
