Say I was to accept two high level offers, (taking away the idea of 'insurance' I know) but what will happen if I fail to reach the points required by say 30 points, will there be much leighway? If not, will I be able to phone around my unaccepted offers and try to get a place, or will they tell me where to hypothetically 'shove-it'? thanks

phone them if you miss the offer whatever happens, most often they'd rather let you on than someone through clearing. The worst that can happen is them saying no. If the course is full, there's always clearing...

if u dont make the grades you probably wont get in depends how popular the uni and course is, they MAY accept you if u miss a grade. You can ring ur other unis up if they offer the course in clearing.

If you miss your firm and insurance offer, you go through UCAS Clearing.

There's a comprehensive FAQ on the clearing process here: http://www.ucas.com/getting/clearing/index.html.

The answer very much depends on how popular the university and course you are applying to are. If you contact the universities that are concerned they would probably tell you themselves based on previous experience and how many people have accepted them as first choice.

Im in a similar postition, I want st andrews to be my 1st but i dont really have many low offers that are of much difference for the degree i am doing. I think its all about taking the risk, one of ur two would probs let u in if u miss it by one grade but if not ud have to use clearing. Depends on the popularity of ur unis really!
