boyfriend just dumped me, is it too soon to date this new guy?

my boyfriend dumped me today and we were on and off for 3 years. however, we have been really bad the past 6 months and havent really considered ourselves boyfriend and girfiend.

There has been a guy friend ive had for a while and i know he likes me, and i wondered if it was too soon to start dating him? I know my boyfriend only said 'your dumped' today, but technically we havent been together for a good half a year.

Should i move on, or is it too soon?

If you feel ok with it then go for it.

However I would suppose that you need to make sure that you start seeing this guy for the right reasons and that he isn't just a rebound.
