Hiya! My internal ucas deadline at foundation is in 2 weeks! I'm struggling to find textiles courses that fit what I want
what I want from the course:
I want to be creative, I love textile Art, embellishment etc.
I'm not a fashion student so not looking for a fashion course
I've looked at courses like st martin's surface textiles course, worried it won't be arty enough
What I want from a uni:
I'd like it to be 3 hours (max) on the train from Essex and Cambridge so i can see family at least once a month (I have to split myself between the two)-so london would be perfect! furthest east-Norwich and west-New Bucks.
I really want a uni that offers a personal work space, I know alot of london ones don't have the space.
I also would like a uni that's halls are walking distance as with textiles I'll probably be carrying everything to class daily.. and I'm very small (no joke) so tend to be to weak to carry my stuff. (I lead a sad life. but at least my friends are tall enough to reach the top shelves of things).
I've been to so many open days it's ridiculous, spent way too much money on train fare, probably about £500 in total! I literally cannot afford any more
I liked the look of London college of communication's surface pattern design course, but it didn't offer the space, though the facilities were great and the atmosphere wonderfully creative.
I haven't been to an open day but New Buckinghamshire's textiles course Looks right up my street, I'd love to know more about it
As well as Norwich's textiles course.
Anyway! I hope I get some answers, And sorry I've babbled for far too long!
(I know i've been very specific with where I want to study) It costs £60 return from london to get to where I live, I am worried about money. I'm saving up £100 a month for train fare/general travel etc. so should have £1200 by the time i start uni. hopefully it'll last me all 3 years)
