Oooh, you're doing M5? Nice! You may find www.mathsnet.net to be some use for some of those modules, though I don't think they have all of them.

Also, this site has some great notes you might find useful:

What about the statistics modules? Unless you're a mechanics wizard like Widowmaker, I imagine S1 would be easier than M5... Heck, most people even say S1 is easier than M1... Although, I can't fault you on your attitude; we all have to stick together on a crusade that is against the evilness of D1 :p: *Gasps*! Best of luck with your modules  ...

Mmm, I don't really blame you... there's only one maths teacher at my school who likes statistics :p: , the others are more into mechanics and pure maths... The students seem to hate statistics too :p: ... the class I'm in at the moment is doing the GCSE statistics coursework - they're hating it lol, can't fault them really; I hated it too!

Don't despise D1 before you learn the content. Dijkstra's algorithm could help you find the shortest route from an A* GCSE to a Grade A in Further Maths...

its the linear programming that makes me think "er go away!" lol

This site- black academy- is this their own content or is it from the edexcel textbook??

Where can i get the answers to the exercises?

Hehe, I was waiting for you to comment... It seems people hate things like the simplex algorithm however, and say it takes forever. Plus, in the D1 exam, you're apparently really hard done by for time... that could be the deciding factor in whether you get an A or B for example...

Whilst we're on the topic, what is D2 like? I haven't really heard much about that... is it more of the same, or is it somehow different  ?

The answers are at the bottom of the exercises? I think it's their own content.

Every module must contain some topic that is less liked than the other topics by some or most candidates.

I would find it difficult to remember anyone saying on this forum that they really enjoyed repeated iterations of the Simplex Algorithm. I include myself in this number...

To a certain extent, D2 is more of the same - rather more difficult of course.

You get to learn some of the basics of Game Theory, which is probably the most interesting. At least when Gordon Brown announces that his latest income tax ploy involves a zero-sum game you know what he's talking about, and you can feel fairly confident that you know more about zero-sum games than he does...
