Ben iz da UCL econ course content relli hard compared to other unis? What level of mathematics (at a level) do you think is good for someone to manage well with the maths in the L100 course. e.g. an A in mathematics and a good grade in further etc

My guess would be, maths ability isn't going to be the problem

Ability to communicate clearly in what is understood to be English helps. Anyway...

Course content is much like any other top uni (tough) but in it's own way - a touch heavier on the mathematics and a significantly heavier lean on Econometrics.

I am not an expert on the UCL course, but I assume with those grades you would be able to handle it.

You get words in your Econometrics lectures?!

All I get are greek letters I've never heard of before, after 5 weeks I still don't understand the first hand out

I'm finding econometrics alright..I must be mad because put any pure maths in front of me and I freak and cry like a child. Or optimisation theory..or anything really but econometrics is ok.

Sorry - sigma is a covariance matrix. Not 'sum of'.

I'm too lazy to type it into bold... x and mu are vectors, one of which is primed. I had strangely assumed everyone would know this...!!

If you can do that from S1 knowledge, I'll give you a tenner. Better yet, what is the integral of f of x and why?
its ln , i forgot why tho hmmmmmmmmm something too do maybe of it being a reflection of some sort?

PB is now running a hedge fund (i believe) and he made close to 100k in his first year of work as a trader.

Don't ask me why, but for some reason, i don't think PB is troubled by this anymore......
