The Student Room Group

Social Skills

ok, heres the situation:
Im on my gap year, and have a place at oxbridge. Most of my social group have gone off to Israel, but i decided to work for a bit and then travel... however, i just called one of my female friends:rolleyes: and had nothing to say- normally im really chatty, chirpy, enthusiastic etc(shy is not a word associated with me:wink: ), and just now i was painfully aware of my inadequacies in talking about any thing interesting, and anything at all.... :frown:
Im really confused about this cos i've never had a problem like this before, and while i could put it down to the fact that its a) a girl i like :frown: b)its friday morning and im tired/fed up  c)i havent spoken to her since december^o) (although previously we always could talk nonstop), i am thinking that maybe my lack of interaction with loads of different people has somewhat limited my conversation? I have 4/5 friends who are around who i speak to/go out withg regularly, and I am "myself"(confident) with them, so what do people think is wrong with me:confused:
It seems that you are envious of their travelling? I would be that's for sure. I know what i'd rather be doing.

Jealousy of what they are doing and going through right now, so you feel disappointed and dejected that you are not there with them...
