Is it morally correct? What would you do if you were in that position??? Feel free to share your opinions on this thread.
Euthanasia is a very broad term and I'm only in favour of some aspects of it.

I think that in many cases euthanasis should be allowed... my grandad for example, had emphysema from working in an asbestos environment (sort of similar to lung cancer). He had gone from being an 83-year old who walked 5 miles a day to not being able to get up stairs. In the end, he had absolutely no chance of recovery, he was in terrible pain and there was nothing they could do for him except keep him dosed on painkillers for the last few weeks.

We are civil enough to put animals out of their misery if injured badly, so why shouldn't we give the same courtesy to humans?

Withdrawl of treatment is NOT euthanaisa in a 'fancy box'. DNR is not even withdrawl of treatment, if its humune, then a doctor doesn't ressusitate. I can see your point of view about euthanasia but dont bracket letting people die naturally in a hospital as the same thing.

If I was dying a long painful death I wouldn't want some do-gooders telling me I wasn't allowed to end my suffering.

ditto, i would rather die with dignity and honour than rot away because some pathetic prissy PC idiot who doesnt even know me telling me i cant die

Simac's right on this one. I've argued long and hard on this one and I had to concede that, while I could never take the decision not to ressusitate myself, it is sometimes the correct course of action. It is certainly not euthanasia in any sort of box, fancy or otherwise. It's incredibly easy to sit and say that the doctors could have done it a different way but if you genuinely believe that they didn't have the best interest of the child in mind or that they didn't to everything in their power to prevent her suffering then you need to seriously question what you are basing such thoughts on.
