Ovulation Pain

Poll

Do you get ovulation pain/can you feel yourself ovulating?

How many of you get ovulation pain? I don't anymore, now I am on the Pill, but I used to get what felt like a stitch, but lower down, in either my left or right side, it used to alternate. I know not everyone can feel when they ovulate, but I just wondered how many of you did.....:hmmmm:

(Also it would be preferable if guys didn't vote in the poll, as I feel this may skew the results a tad....:p: )

I've heard of it, but never had it as far as I know. Unless I just mistook it for a stitch or something.

I get pains in both sides about a week before I am due. This helps with knowing if it is going to be bad or not as the pain does vary.

Yes! I don't get it every month, but had it really badly this month, almost as bad as period pain. Do you think there's any reason why some months you can feel it and some you can't?

I just think its the bodies way of telling you what is happening. I often think that when I feel pain maybe I have released more than one egg?? I dunno. I am opn the mini pill too, though I felt pain before when I was on a different one and when I didnt take it for a spell as i had problems.

Yup, I certainly get it! It's a right pain.

Actually, before I went on the Pill, and at the point in my cycle following ovulation, I'd get strange cramps after sex. When I went on the Pill this was no longer a problem. Anyone else experience this? There are websites on it, actually, but not any I know offhand. Weird stuff.

Apparently you don't necessarily release an egg every month, so it could be that...

Lets face it is anyone ever going to fully understand the workings of the female body??? I think not.
We are a breed unknown and still evolving with everything wrong move a male takes.

Hmmm... good point. I didn't think of that before.

Yeah I do - about 2 days before I get cramps and feel really bloated - it's really horrible. I've had to miss days off school because it hurts so much.

To be honest I am not sure, we had lecture about it today and I am pretty sure that I get ovulation pain but it isn't that severe and it only last a few hours but it is always there mid cycle so I assume that is what it must be.

I used to, not any more though cause I'm on the pill. I remember the pain being so horrible though and the more I thought about what's actually happen the worse it was. On one biology lesson we just happened to be talking about ovulation and how the ovary rips and it was absolutely awful thinking about how something inside me is breaking like that.. :dong:

Oooh, so far quite a lot of you do! It is a pain but I'm thinking that those of us who do feel ovulation will be able to benefit from this in the very very very distant future when trying to conceive children... Although knowing me any children I have will be as a result of an accident. Both me and my younger brother (there are 12 years between us) were what my parents like to call 'welcome mistakes' :p:
