Lazio defender Jaap Stam is reportedly on the brink sealing a deal to join Milan in the summer.
Cash-strapped Lazio resisted offers to sell the towering Dutch defender during January's transfer window, but the club's board made no promises to coach Roberto Mancini that they would be able to keep him for next term.

The vultures are circling over the Eternal City club and Stam's agent believes a deal will be struck between the two clubs in the near future.

"The difference between demand and offer is so small, I expect the clubs will come to an agreement," Stam's representative told VI.nl. "For me it is certain that the transfer will go through."

The Dutchman has a further season to run on his Lazio contract and said late last year that he would see out his deal before returning to The Netherlands.

However, Lazio's financial troubles mean a major offer could well see them letting the 31-year-old move to the San Siro.

Oh boy. The European Champions are just going to get stronger. And Lazio must really be in the brown stuff.

when/if we get mexes he'll be at or near the end of his contract, so he'll be free or very cheap. plus wenger buys for the future.
