Itching can be a sign of a number of sti's for example genital herpes where it may be associated with fluid filled blisters, genital warts which can be associated with cauliflower shaped lumps, hep C can have ichy skin as a symptom and pubic lice. There is also a good chance however if you are worride about sti's because you have had unprotected sex your best bet is to go to your local gum clinic to be checked as even if the itching is thrush many sti's are symptomless.

It could be anything from irritation from cleansing products or underwear, to an STI, so it's best to go to the doctor.
The discharge associated with thrush is white and has a yeasty smell whereas STIs may be accompanied by a worse smell, and may differ in colour. Both problems may cause pain. You may have irregular bleeding/bleeding after sex with an STI, but unlikely with thrush. Both may cause pain when urinating, while abdominal pains may be a sign of an STI, as are swollen glands around the groin.
